  1. My Stream radio doesn't play any CD, when a CD is inserted, it says CD ERROR. Tried with numerous CD's. VCDS shows "Control module fault". Anybody had similar problem? Any solutions besides changing the whole unit?
  2. Mike, thanks for taking time to explain. However, I can't figure out why would Skoda sell a car with factory fitted CC without CC active light, even though there's a CC symbol on the dash? I'm really curious in hearing your answers on this, thanks
  3. Just performed Instrument output test, it showed: 4x gauges test, Maxidot test, some beeps test, diesel pre-warm light, immobiliser light, seat-belt light (activated), handbrake (!) light, + MIL, battery and bulb failure lights were on all the time. No CC light. TPMS light was also not "tested" (it's not activated), but I assume every O2 has it on the dash by default? If so, I figure VCDS is not testing every available LED symbol? I reckon we can prove this theory by deactivating "seatbelt warning" and perform the test again? Or maybe VCDS is testing only the "warning lights" (red and orange) and not the green ones?
  4. Regarding the CC dash light again: I've read on another topic that MY06 Octavia TDI PD should have active light (mine is exactly MY06 TDI PD, with Maxidot, for Croatian market though). If I perform Instrument output test on VCDS, should all available lights come up, or just the activated ones? 'Cause I don't have CC activated, but want to test if it'll light up when I retrofit and activate one
  5. On B5.5 Passat there are springs on both sides of rear brake caliper "controling" the handbrake, don't know if Octavia has the same system?
  6. I don't quite understand, are you suggesting that clusters with Maxidot should have CC light, regardless of MY? Good idea, I'll try to test it with VCDS
  7. Just curious about CC active light on the dash (on MY06 or older versions) - Is it just the LED issue, or there isn't any signal coming to that "place" on dash? In other words, if I solder an LED on the place where CC active light should be, will it work? Because there is the symbol on the dash:
  8. On a B5.5 Passat I had "chinese" HU. About the time issue --> had to take out GPS maps SD card and than adjust the time. Maybe it's similar on yours? Best thing would be to contact seller about that issue, think they should know how to sort it. Good luck
  9. Maybe some electronics + water problem? Have you checked the CCM module?
  10. That's right, but hopefully nothing undesired happened if you just unplugged and replugged the connector. Try VCDS and let us know the outcome
  11. Did you unplugged the battery when you were dealing with airbag connector? Have you tried erasing the airbag error through VCDS? Because once the airbag error is on, it will stay on until reseting (erasing) it on VCDS.
  12. Mean like this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bentley-Style-Folding-Shell-Remote-Key-Case-Fob-3-Button-for-VW-Phaeton-Touareg-/331496915996?hash=item4d2ec1841c:g:pwQAAOSweW5VXTfV&vxp=mtr
  13. Wooow, didn't know it was that "complex"! So roughly - 06 plate and 56 plate are MY2006 cars, with newest possible till March 2007. Thank you guys, resolved all my confusions, now it's much easier to follow the Forum!
  14. Hi, I'm living in Croatia and it was the first time on Briskoda that I heard (read) "56 plate", "57 plate" Octavia and so on... Can someone explain me what does it stands for cause I don't have that in my country, we mark them as 2001 Octavia, 2009 Octavia (model years) and so on.. Thanks
  15. I'm sure they are crazily bright but the price?! Hard to say yes to these Can you provide with some link or a photo of those? I'm using "standard" 5 SMD LED W5W bulbs but not happy with the light output.
  16. Hi, my suggestions sre: First link: No need to buy Canbus ones for interior. Second link: Not very bright LEDs, I'd avoid them. Third link: Good brightness for reading lights in the interior. Satisfaying for mirror puddle lights also. I suppose you'll need festoon bulb for main interior light? And I wouldn't bother with W5W style bulbs in the boot, at least not in O2 preFL, cause they are too "weak" for Octavia's big boot. I would recommend some improvisation with festoon LED lights in the boot (of course if not OEM style is an option). Tell me what you think
  17. Though I'm afraid it's the thermostat, cause had the same symptoms on Opel (Vauxhall) Astra, changed the thermostat and everything was working normal again. Good luck
  18. If you decide to paint them, this is my favourite way
  19. Low temperature is damaging the engine in long term, but nothing will happen if you drive it few miles till you get to garage. (Assuming it's the thermostat, not the temp sensor that is faulty)
  20. Hi, there are lots of videos on Youtube how to paint or spray calipers
  21. Thanks, James! Hopefully won't be any problems... on the other hand, it's quite easy to change the headlight unit on Octavia, so I could change it back to normal halogen headlamp once a year Anyhow, I'll definitely start a new topic about progress of retrofitting the headlights, so you can all walk me through with suggestions and help
  22. Hello everyone, My name is Semir and I'm living in Croatia. I have Octavia 2 Sportstyle 1.9 TDI (2006) for few months now and I'm very happy with the car! Anyhow, I'm kind of a light enthusiast so I'm getting prepared to retrofit the headlights to Bi-xenon projector headlight, with 4300K xenon (so far I have a stock halogen headlight without projectors). ** I'm familiar with the law regulation that it's illegal to have xenon headlights without washers and self-levelling, and I'm familiar with the fact that I'm risking to dazzle others in traffic, although I'll be using xenon projector lens ** (so please, I think there's no need to mention it in my posts, thank you  ) Hope to hear lots of suggestions and to get help in retrofitting the headlight. Along with other usefull comments, of course. Btw, feel free (I encourage you) to correct my English, it would help me learn it faster, thanks
