  1. Hi All I wrote a post recently about doing my sump on a rock on my way home,I ordered all my bits through main dealer and Ebay as im very remote (Nearest shops 20 miles away) and the car is off the road. I had problems getting the last 2 bolts out flywheel end but eventually did it. The last few bits arrived today and I was on the last stage, replacing the new sump, well it didnt fit,I sent the seller my chassis number, reg and Part number: 06A 103 603 H and it was listed as being ok for my car, hence me buying it.Phoned him today and told him its no good and he then said " Oh you have an AZJ Engine so no it will not fit " even after he had made all of the checks on his system he didnt realise. So do your homework and double, double check everything you are going to buy from Ebay or anywhere else.I now have to rely on my local farmer taking me into town tomorrow to get the correct one.
  2. Finally got it off,had to grind bolt heads off in the end,the parts that were damaged are 06A 115 251 D and 06A 103 206 C So im glad i ordered new pick up pipe, the other is an adaptor ? Couldnt find one so another call to main dealer, should be here tuesday. So case closed I hope.
  3. Cheers lads,I have a brand new sump pan here ready to go on it,just cant get them 2 bolts out, havent tried PlusGas,but will order some and see, failing that im going to grind tops off and try to remove studs after, new pick up and o` ring ordered from main dealer so cn get that done at same time. Will keep you posted what happens.
  4. Hi all,I have been doing 200miles once a week going to Hospital for tests etc,I came home last thursday. When I got onto the forest track back to mine i heard a loud thud under the car,i stopped and got out and the sump was totally fecked,a large stone had taken out half of the pan.I got a tow home off a local farmer and called it a night. The next morning i had a good look and it was worse than i thought, the top engine mount bolts had snapped, engine had dropped and she sump was nearly gone.I ordered new mount, bolts, sump pan, sealer, and decided to do both track rod ends and new discs and pads all round. The sump was the last thing to be delivered so everything else is done, but can i get the 2 sump bolts out gearbox end I have read several old posts on here and bought every tool mentioned, ive tried to stay calm as i had a heart attack a while ago but what a . While underneath i also noticed a crack in something plastic Inside engine, behind the front of the pan, roughly in the middle,as i said i cant get old sump off to find out what it is.Any ideas ? its brown/black and this shape I was also thinking of grinding the heads off the bolts with a dremmel and removing the studs when the sump pan off ?? The old girl has done 120K miles and was serviced annually at main dealer until 2 years ago, while sump is off im thinking of doing pick up pipe if its looking messy or would you do it anyway ? Car is 2.0L petrol AZJ Engine Sorry no pictures!
  5. Good idea Yellowcar AlanRHB I did try them recently but only had a few replies, the window regulator was dearer through them than buying brand new and same with the sump guard(splash guard) I have found some good stuff via ebay and a breakers in Gloucester http://twigworthbreakers.com/
  6. I found a guy on ebay selling the window regulator for £24 with 2 year warranty, that is now sorted, splash guard is ordered from skodaparts.com,just the door to try and sort now,but im sure its just a tweek to get it lined up.
  7. Many Thanks Mate, will have a good look, prior to my heart attack she was my pride and joy, only just starting to feel like doing anything again.
  8. Hi everyone, since joining ive gone over my octy and wrote a list of to do`s So the mrs backed up the drive with the door open and caught door on bank and door has dropped slightly, what size are the bolts holding door, maybe just needs a slight jiggle.? Needs a under sump cover (splash guard) as mine ripped off on speed bump at dog track. Passenger side window regulator knackered Where would you suggest I look, dont think there are any scrappies around my neck of the woods and maybe its something you have experienced buying.
  9. me + the mrs are up for meeting on the A483 leg as we live just off it. Octavia Estate ambiente, nature green Is 10th may deffo ?
  10. Im in a little place called Llaithddu,I will have to get the polish out as I live up a forestry track and a nice clean car stays that way for roughly 30 seconds this time of year.
  11. Did a bit of looking around on here and found several old posts on the problem, would like to thank Darrylg for a great post on it.spent a couple of hours outside earlier and found 2 pins had broken off in the connector box (adjoined to the window motor regulator unit). I tried to remodel them with solder but it didnt work so I soldered a wire to what was left of the pins and drilled out the corresponding hole in the female block unit, soldered the wires together and wrapped firstly with insulation tape and then with some self amalgamating tape. Works perfectly now. Just the passenger side electric window to fix now as 1 of the cables snapped and the window is jammed up with a bit of wood. Is this a big job ?
  12. Hi Toxicvrs I have a nature green Octavia estate 2.0 petrol and despite a central locking issue and the passenger window not working, she is one of my best cars. J306TD..Where in mid wales you from mate ? im between Llandrindod wells and Newtown.
  13. Hi Everyone I have owned my skoda octavia estate for 4 years now and up until xmas last year all was good, but the central locking stopped working on drivers door with remote, also the Led doesnt light up and if the mirror switch is turned to adjust the drivers mirror the passenger mirror moves. I would of had a go at it sooner but im still recovering from a Heart attack i had last year. Any ideas or guidance welcomed. ATB Darren
