  1. Hi, I installed an original dog guard (P / N: 6V9 017 221) - I would not recommend doing it yourself. There must be drilled in both headlining and plastic panels. Templates are included showing where to drill holes. Besides that you need a certain tool to secure the dogs grid. It is no problem to remove / mounted it as you find necessary. However, the first time the tool is required. I also have the mirror that you mention. It works fine and is applied directly to the glass.
  2. I have the same type of tires mounted on alloy wheels, but I have no problems with tire noise. I have now switched to winter tires. Continental winter contact TS850 - 185 / 60-15 on steel wheels. Road noise is reduced even with winter tires - But another "problem" now appears, engine noise. Not so much when you just roll quietly down the street, but when the car has to work even the smallest, one can hear a faint "duk duk duk" sound. It can be difficult to describe but if you find road noise a problem you will surely be crazy about this sound. It becomes audible around 1800 rpm. and up, in all gears. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the sound disappears, even if the car is up to speed. So it is not a sound from the wheels. Possibly drive shaft or similar. It is weak but it is there. Perhaps there are others who are experiencing this- and may have a better idea of what it is? The car is generally poorly silenced and are easily influenced by external noise. It is true that others probably will not notice this sound. But now that he would like to eliminate one type of noise - I just want to mention that it is not always for the better.
  3. Hi, I think I can hear the timing chain, at cold start. I noticed it in the first 2 to 3 seconds when starting the car. - Then the sound disappears. The sound is best described, a bit like a cold diesel engine. I can not produce the sound by turning on / off the car. I have to wait an hour or more before I hear the sound again. The sound is only present at the first cold start. It's a petrol engine - 1.2 TSI 110 hp Is anyone else experienced this?
  4. Goldfinger >> Please read http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/356336-fabia-iii-vcds-adaptions/page-2
  5. Please read my reply to Auric Goldfinger The location of the sensors and what functions they have, should be clarified. We agree on most things. Related to Fabia mk3 If you have all three systems, Light Assistant, Climatronic and rain sensor, only one unit is fitted with all three functions. (P / N: 5Q0 955 547 A) And it is located in the base of the rearview mirror. This device is not related to the actual mirror. The three systems, Light Assistant, Climatronic and Rain sensor are independent of each other and can all be ordered separately. Auto dimming rear view mirror can also be ordered separately. However, it is included when ordering either Climatronic, rain sensor, or both. It is not included when ordering only Light Assistant. >>Dithane. Yes, the light sensor is the square piece of plastic. It does not seem that they have chosen to use a sensor for both light and rain - Although I do believe that you can get it. However, you have no advantage of this. I changed my own from the humidity sensor (P/N: 8U0 955 559) to the light / rain / humidity sensor (P/N: 5Q0 955 547 A) - That way I got rain sensor. See the topic, VCDS tweks for Fabia.
  6. First, do you have rain sensor? The settings are only available, via Bolero, at cars with auto wipers / rain sensor.
  7. I have done the cornering forgs and some other thing, but I have not found the "tweak" to enable hill hold via VCDS. Is it possible?
  8. The sensor you're referring to is not the one controlling the headlights on the car. It is true that there is a sensor in the rearview mirror, but it is only dimming the mirror. The humidity sensor (P/N: 8U0 955 559) which controls the Climatronic - is placed in the base that holds the rearview mirror to the windshield. A combined sensor (P/N: 5Q0 955 547 A) are installed if you have Rain sensor and Climatronic - The location is the same. If you have only light assistant - The light sensor (P/N: Unknown) is located is in the middle of the dashboard up against the windshield, without touching the glass.
  9. I ordered Climatronic. When I picked up the car, I could see that my model was fitted with a large rear view mirror - but the display model only had an ordinary rear view mirror. The sensor for the Climatronic is located behind the mirror up against the windshield. I suspect that the sensor on the instrument panel is for light assistant, only. I would not have had the sensor on the dashboard if I had ordered the car with factory fitted rain sensor. In this case, rain and humidity sensor is the same sensor.
  10. On my Fabia, model style, light assistant are standard. It came with the features that you describe. I could control the light by covering a plastic square located center of the dashboard up against the windshield. After retrofitted rain sensor, this sensor is no longer active. There was no need to demount the sensor so I can not give you a part number, only the location.
  11. My pre-week 22 car (Bolero) System information. Device part number: 5Q0035819 Hardware: H11 Software: 0138 Media Codes: 1003.113.1.15 prod Could anyone with a post-week 22 car post their System information?
  12. Sure - I have the Sygic Navigation app, trail version. Works fine for me, Also when I am driving :p
  13. Hey Joe I also have an Samsung S4 mini (GT-I9195, Android 4.4.2) and I have no trouble getting it to work with MirrorLink. -So you're already there, no need to hold your breath at all.
  14. Yes, it can be done. - I have seen/done it myself. I later retrofitted orginal rain sensor. Therefore I know for sure that the function you are looking for is active when the car has both Autolight and rain sensor.
  15. Hey, You only have this option if your car also has a rain sensor. Otherwise, it is something which has been set at the factory.
  16. No, because when we are in the binary code, it starts with Bit 0 and ends at Bit 7 Here, however, there is an error. It is NOT bit 6, but Bit 5 as the binary code also says.
  17. I found it incredibly easy to retrofit the rain sensor. (5Q0 955 547 A) Behind the rear-view mirror is a socket. Here there is located a sensor having the same design as the new sensor. Remove the housing behind the mirror, and then the mirror itself. The sensor is held by a clip. There is a silicone between the glass and the sensor to create a good connection, I believe. The sensor does not fall down because the silicone helps to hold it in place. The silicone can be recycled in the lack of better, but I would recommend a new one. The one I bought already had the silicone on. Before the system could recognize the new sensor I had to get into Module [09] Cent. Elect. >> [07] Coding >> Long Coding >> Byte 6 - Bit 1 ON and Bit 0 OFF. A Full Auto-Scan is made and the sensor now appears as a slave under Module [09] The coding (00185E) for the new sensor, can then be added. Module [09] Cent. Elect. >> [07] Coding >> Use the Dropdown and find the new sensor >> Type in the code and press “Do it” After having compared the codes that I received, I found that: Module [09] Cent. Elect. >> [07] Coding >> Long Coding Byte 13 - Bit 6 must be ON. (Afterwards my binary code now is 0010 0111) Module [09] Cent. Elect. >> [10] Adaptation (11) -Windshield wiper Rege Sensor aktivieren, Deactivating (Mine was “Not Deactivated"). I've also got some extra settings on my Bolero, they can be found under lights and wipers menu. They became visible by themselves. However, I found one place more where the codes were not all alike, it was Byte 1 - Bit 1 My code has Bit 1 - ON (Binary: 0000 0011) The code that I received has Bit 1 - OFF (Binary: 0000 0001) I've tried with and without this bit but it does not seem to have any influence. I have no descriptions when I open the Module [09] Cent. Elect. >> [07] Coding >> Long Coding - I do not think there is a label file yet. The same goes for the new sensor. So I work a little in the dark.
  18. First a big thanks to "mtl". - Your help has been fantastic. I have now tested the new sensor and I can happily conclude that it works. The previously mentioned plastic square, located on the dashboard, which served as my light sensor is now disabled. The new sensor installed, is also now the light sensor. As far as I know, this is not something I've done. The new light sensor works fine. If I hold my hand over the sensor, the light turns on and when I remove the hand again, the light is switched off. However, I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer. - On the wiper stalk, I have some drops. What do they do now that the wipers are automatic? - I see that the headlights turn on when you get a lot of water on the windscreen. But when do they turn off again? My headlights remain lit until I disconnect the ignition. I have the ability to change settings via lights and wipers menu, but I can not find anything regarding time, only on and off. Thank you.
  19. Just installed the new sensor. (5Q0 955 547 A) First, an Auto-Scan. No luck to find the new sensor. But after a little searching online, I found out that, Byte 6 - bit 1 must be active and to bit 0, not. This should be done in Module 09, main controller. A new Auto-Scan completed. Now it tells me that I have a slave with Part number of the sensor. Everything looks ok. However, I would not call it a success yet. I have coded sensor with the code I received earlier (Coding: 00185E). However, this has not changed the wiper function. Could you send me the coding of module 09, main controller? It might help to clarify what else is missing. - Or better yet, tell me what I need to do if you know it? I have an idea that I have to deactivate the manual mode. But I'm certainly not sure. From the car where you have sensor data. Do you remember whether it also had the light sensor located on the dashboard? Thank you.
  20. Thank you This is exactly what I'm looking for. I am a little excited to see how much needs to be changed if it is even possible. I reckon that I also have to change something in module 09, but I must wait untill I have the sensor.
  21. Hi, I would like to retrofit the rain sensor so that I can have automatic windscreen wipers. I have a SEL Estate – With Climate Control The reason that I mention the Climate Control is that you then get the “big” rear view mirror, because behind it, a humidity sensor (P/N: 8U0 955 559) is placed. This is the same “look” that a car with the rain sensor has, so in my opinion, you don’t need to change the windscreen. As far as I know, the windscreen wiper stalk is the same with or without the auto function. To help me out, your car must have Climate Control and automatic windscreen wipers. Some cars, like mine, only have one of the two. Could anyone with VCDS please tell me the P/N for the rain/humidity sensor? Under module [09] Central Electric >> use the dropdown menu >> take a look at the third P/N. Could be something like 5Q0 955 559 (A) or 5Q0 955 547 (A) as previously mentioned, mine is 8U0 955 559 The long coding for the module is also at nice thing to have :p On some cars, the light sensor I also fitted behind the rear view mirror, but not in this case. I have a square plastic piece at the button of the windscreen on the dashboard. - Cover it and the lights will come on. The conclusion may be that this is the light sensor. Thank you
  22. So if you have a compatible phone, you would be able to get full mirroring - So as you can see and use non compatible apps when you parked?I suspect that the screen goes blank when driving. I thought, if only the phone had MirrorLink under the settings menu, the phone would be compatible. Apparently not! One idea might be http://www.caraudio-systems.de/skoda_vim_eng.html I saw somewhere that a guy has done something similar with his VW Polo and MirrorLink
  23. Hi, I would like to know how your phones are displayed when connected with mirrorLink. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. It has been updated to the latest software (4.4.2) for this device. When connecting the phone to the car, on the phone, I go to settings>MirrorLink. I can then see the certified apps the works with MirrorLink, and I have at check box that makes the phone ready to connect. Phone ready and USB cable plugged in. The phone now tells me that it’s connected to the car via MirrorLink. From now on, I can’t use the phone anymore. As long as the phone is connected, it’s locked. On the head unit, Menu>MirrorLink, I can see the 5-6 apps that are MirrorLink compatible. These apps are the only ones I can use. I do not have the option of using other apps. - Not even at a standstill. Is there anyone who is able to use apps that are not on the compatible list? Does anyone have full mirroring of their phone onto the head unit?
