In order to finish off the exterior "RS" kit, I got an aftermarket rear wing, also made out of fiber glass, and something to cover the top half of the headlights (sorry, I don't know what they're called in English) Installed aftermarket parking senzors. Replaced the last part of the exhaust with a pipe and an ornament just for a better look. Also, red decal on the tail lights. Last thing I had to do was to enlarge the middle bumber grill for more air intake (don't know why I did that, cause I don't have a front mounted intercooler, but it looks nice) And then it went off to be repainted. I'll show you next week what else was done after paint.

Then I started taking care of the exterior. Because stock was no longer good enough . The RS exterior kits are quite rare and very expensive for our standards so I had to buy a dented front bumber that I later had a friend repair with fiber glass. It was looking bad at the time, but after paint it should be much better. Also, if he was working with fiber glass already, i had him debadge my front grill. Again, it looks very bad not painted.

A few months later I got a set of 17" rims from a trade with a friend. They were not in a good state, but for free they will do. Then I moved to the interior and got ahold of front and rear Recaro 2 seats from a Mk4 Golf GTI which later I had fitted with oem Octavia seat heating system. It was a lot of work, but in winter time it is quite cold and it was well worth the money and effort. Also changed to an Alpine subwoofer with a JBL amp.

So, to start, this is what it looked like a couple of months after I got it. Not much was done to it, just some "carbon" in the interior, green brake calipers and drums, extra speakers in the back and a subwoofer and amplifier.

Hi Guys, My name is Vali and I'm from Romania. I've been watching this forum and the cars presented on here and I've now found the time (and courage) to present to you my car and its history. It is (or was :p) a 2003 Mk1 Octavia Elegance, 1.9 TDI ALH, 90 hp. I got it 4 years ago completely stock. Diesel Octavias are very popular over here due to low fuel consumption and very reliable engines. This is the reason a got this model. Initially I wanted to keep it as stock as possible, but of course that idea went out the window very fast . Here is a Before and After picture and after that I will go into details of all the modifications I've done to it.
