  1. Hi everyone, I have reached 100000km (62137.119 miles) with my 10 years old Rapid, All the best!
  2. Heya, another nice milestone for my 1.2TSI. All the best from Romania
  3. Hi everybody, just reached 50000km (31068.56 miles), the engine is a 1.2TSI. Very pleased with the car. Well, maybe the fuel consumption could have been better but I'm not complaining too much. We are doing mostly short urban trips so a high consumption is expected. All the best!
  4. Hi everybody, I have just reached 40000km with my 5 years old 1.2TSI, so far so good. All the best
  5. It happened to me also and the dealer said they can't reproduce the issue and most likely the car mat was the cause. Since then it happened again two times but I was lucky the road was straight and nobody in front of me! Pretty freaky I would say. All the best!
  6. Hi everybody, please notice the trip counter, almost perfect All the best
  7. No worries, enjoy your Octavia Have a great weekend!
  8. Hi, do you have some pics? I would like to carry 3 bikes, is there a possibility to adapt the roof rack? Oh...and will you ship it to Romania? Many thanks, All the best from Timisoara
  9. Hi everybody, just reached 30000km with my 2013 1.2TSI. No troubles so far (knock on wood ). All the best from Romania!
  10. I don't know about the Rapid, but some (if not most) other cars have an additional fuel anti-theft feature that prevent the insertion of a tube to suck the fuel out. Does anybody know if this is the case with the Rapid? All the best from Timisoara!
  11. Heya, never happend to me, and we get some serious negative temperatures here. Would be useful to have a de-frost spray can handy or to cover the cap with a small plastic bag (simply cheap ). All the best!
  12. Oh sorry that happened! Could have been much worse though (the family suffered no injuries, that is the most important thing). I had an accident myself (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/354513-unlucky-saturday/) and I can only confirm that the Rapid did his (or her ?) job in keeping the passengers safe. I hope all will be sorted out in your favour in the end, dealing with the insurers is no easy job. All the best from Timisoara
  13. Totally agree, absolutely not to bad . Mine is exactly 2 years old and reached 22000km. It is the low-powered 1.2TSI. The only problems were the water in a rear door (solved by the garage) and an unexpected acceleration (the guys from the garage told me that it probably was the acceleration pedal that was somehow blocked by the mat; I'm not buying that entirely but it never happened since). I'm satisfied with the fuel consumption, it is around 5.2l/100km, outside of the city area. I tend to use it only in the weekends for longer trips and prefer the tram for commuting daily because the traffic is awful and the fuel consumption goes up really fast. So far I'm satisfied with the choice, All the best from Timisoara!
  14. Heya! I'm glad to have my car back, and it is in good shape too. It looks like they did a proper repair. They used only Skoda original parts and offered a 2 years warranty. Thanks everybody for your messages, All the best from Timisoara!
  15. No it hasn't :( . The insurer gave its approval one month after the accident. Seemed quick but it It was too good to be true. When they dismantled the damaged doors and the rear wing (it took them 2 weeks to do it :( ) they discovered another four faulty items, so asked for insurer's approval again. The next deadline is 15th July but they have already warned me that they will check the geometry of the wheels and there is a slim chance to dicover something to replace there too. As the car took a direct hit in the rear wheel I expect the worse, another round of approval. I learned that in garage language "slim chance" means something like "highly likely". All in all, it will take around 3 months. One month ago I was mad for waiting but now I'm beyond, lost every hope, almost relaxed and cool.
  16. Their estimate was around 13 working days and promised me to have it done by the weekend starting with 3th July. I hope there are no major hidden damages that will require more work time, All the best!
  17. Good news! It wasn't a write off case, so now the car is with the Porsche garage (they are handling all VAG brands) to be repaired. Looking forward having it back in a good shape, I'm kind of anxious now Have a great weekend everybody!
  18. No, I don't. I only have the mandatory one, it is called RCA over here. The other driver has the same but issued in Switzerland. All the best.
  19. Thanks Chrisgreen for explaining things. All the best.
  20. Thanks lots for your advices. The car was registered September 2013, so it is 1 year and 8 months old. It has around 20100km on the clock. All the best
  21. Thank you all for the messages. Two airbags went off, the side one (it is called courtain airbag I think, it spans the whole upper side of the left front and back seats) and the one between the driver's seat and the front door, but I don't know if that makes a difference. It is my first accident so I'm not very familiarized with how the insurances work in real-life. The company that handles the case told me that I can bring the car to be repaired in any garage I want. My first though was to bring it to the official Skoda garage from where the car was bought as new. I reckon they are pricey and then the insurer will decide to write it off...we will see. All the best!
  22. Hi everybody, on Saturday morning I was hit from the left side by a Coke-sipping rookie driver who hasn't noticed the "STOP" sign in front of him. Two things I've noticed with this unlucky occasion: the metal sheets in Rapid are very thin (maybe it helps with the weight of the car and cost saving) and the side airbag deployed perfectly protecting me from any body damage. Now begins the difficult battle for repairing the car (the quilty driver is a foreign citizen and I'm pretty sure this cross-borders insurance stuff is going to be a pain :( ). All the best from Romania.
