This pretty much sums up my driving experience of the same vehicle (DSG) TDI VRS. the maxi dot reads 45 mpg long term average and thats driving keenly, but not like a moron. Mostly motorway miles at 79-88 mph. It does increase if I drive around 50mph when roadworks on motorway are prevalent.

Hi, Long time lurker... I've been driving my TDI Octavia Vrs since 2015. Bought it at end of a PCH deal as mileage was really low and the price was about £1k above Webuyanycar which seemed fair at the time. Since then the firm suspension has been getting on my nerves somewhat (a change of job means the roads i travel on are worse than they were). I've been rereading an old thread about people installing MK7 Golf suspension components - has anyone reading this got this currently done (or aftermarket parts) for the purpose of softening the ride? Would appreciate any pointers/comment if so. Thanks in anticipation...

I have a 15 plater TDI VRS and had 1st service at DMK Leeds, was at 12,000 end of year one, I switched to variable and have left it about 18 months and have done a further 12k, I did top the oil up at around 10k extra miles. I phoned mid jan and asked for a quote and was told the variable service would be £249 - have to admit conversation was very confusing... Im currently deciding whether I'm going to book it in now weathers cleared up and Im available to do so or find an indy (now my warranty has expired).
