Anybody have any ideas as to why my PID randomly turns itself off? plugged in and checked software and says it is up to date

Hi I have just been out doing a few errands, attached my PID and it worked fine. Parked up and when finished got back i car and attached PID again and when i selected the media option only display pictures option came up, I could not access my music. Has any body else had this problem and if so how was it fixed?
