  1. Hi Manny, how's it goin?
  2. Hi Phil, nah....retired from doing that....although never say never. Cheers.
  3. Hi, not exactly new but seeing as I've been away for a little while, thought I'd pop in and say "Hi!". Site lookin good and obviously evolved from when we first moved over from Vortex...all those many Moons ago. Had a few motors since I sold my Octy (gone but not forgotten...you don't forget 340bhp that easily)....Audi A6, Mazda RX8, Yaris 1.4d SR and now a Civic 2.2 cdti. Bit easier on the pocket mind....but I still have some of the modding bug....already running a tuning box and got other things in mind. Was talking to DaveU a couple of weeks back about arranging a get together for the old stagers at one of the old haunts....bl**dy hell it's bene that long I can't even remember the name but, it's off the A34. Email me if youre' interested: [email protected] Laters. Adrian
  4. T888 are basically cut slicks which will be excellent in the dry but crap when it gets to winter. I've found Pirelli Rosso good as were Goodyear F1 GSD3...Rosso were quieter , F1 cheaper. Pirelli PZero Nero are supposed to be very good. Running Bridgestone RE050 on the RX-8.....very good in the dry...grip like buggery..apparently not so good in the wet.
  5. No...you will have to discuss with Jabba directly about other work. If you are a BRISKODA member you will get a 5% discount but as you are having a remap they may cut you a deal. Always best to ask. 1. Nikgolfturbo 2. Silver Surfer
  6. Several people have PMed me about another Jabba rempa group buy. If you're interested please start a list . Those adding their name ot the list please, CUT 'N PASTE the list and add yourslef to the end. If you PMed me of your interest still add yourslef to the list. I will also ask all those who add themseles to please PM me the following: 1) full name 2) contact number This will speed up the process. 7. As long as your a member of BRISKODA you're ok to join group buy. Boost controller has a max and min boost maps...you can then vary this using a rotary controller anywhere in between. Min settng is slightly above that of a standard car. So you can set min and remove for servicing...connects using jack plugs. When mapping, the boost controller allows a little more leighway. Benefits inlcude being able to turn down boost when ambient temp is hgh or for when using a lower grade fuel. Can't remember the price...it's around
  8. As I've had no response from either the organiser or supplier, I'm closing this group buy. From what I've been told, there wasn't enough stock through to get the buy off the ground. Of course, people can still buy individually. My main convern however is not letting members get into a situation where, they are waiting for delivery and have paid money. Been there...done that...and I'm not wanting to sort out the mess from another unofficial group buy.
  9. Have anyone handed over any money fo rthis group buy? If so can you Pm me with details....how much, how you paid , expected delivery date, contact details etc Many thanks.
  10. Please can group buy organiser PM with th details I have asked for. Please do this ASAP or I will close this thread. Thanks.
  11. Can you see anything on the card if you use a card reader?
  12. How many orders is that altogether now? Is there a guaranteed delivery time for orders? What's happening with this? There are 12 people on the list and yet only 2 have placed orders? Group buy organiser or supplier please PM me with details. Also it's not good when the supplier posts...the info should come through the organiser.
  13. Please read this before organising a group buy. Ta.
  14. As has been said above I need at least 5 people to PM to register interest before I will even start a group buy thread. So far I only have 3. Please don't not post in the group buy section....as such I will move this to a more general area. You can then drum up interest.
  15. Seen a white one being tested round Basingstoke....red one also been seen (by SWMBO).
  16. I finished it a few weeks back...damn good book! Been rereading chapters every since....pity the series has ended but.....as already ha been said...there's definately enough scope for spin-offs.
  17. ...and another for how long it's been off the road. Only one winner there.
  18. J will allow the boost to build quicker and you will hit the boost limit quicker (you will get a pulsing of the boost). Worked fine on mine on top of a remap but made the engine run like a dawg when mapped with it. Make sure you don't fit it round the wrong way....you will hit the boost limiter and put the engine into limp mode. Easy to fit....just fit like for like as per original. IIRC the J is off an Audi S2 so it doesn't look exactly the same....still has 3 connections..just fit the right way round.
  19. There's a sticky on what do when arranging a group buy in the Promotions and Group Buy section.
  20. I would think you probably need to sort the oil pipes for turbo as well. I kind by the time you've gone and done all that you may as well have sorted an IHI or a GT28. Yes...they are probably more expensive but the potential for more is there. K04 will probably give 260-280bhp max.....IHI will give 280-350bhp depending on internals. GT28 a little more. I guess it'll boil down to cost and what you want to do. From personal experience the IHI is like the standard just more....spins up quicker than a GT28 but doesn't have the same kick higher up. This is my own personal view of having the IHI and having sampled DaveU's GT28.
  21. Stu you know I quite comfortably ran on stock internals for mine.....but it took a Cloggy with size 13 feet to break the box.
  22. Oh no...I'm just imagine the scene from Something About Mary.....aaarrgh that looked very painful.
  23. With the Jabba boost controller you get 2 maps....max and min. Min is a little more than standard. The idea of controller is that you can vary the boost for different conditions e.g. turn it down when ambient is high to get better response or, to use unleaded fuel or when having the car serviced. Generally most people leave in max but I had mine typically set half way and then, max for when I wanted to play. When I had the IHI conversion I left it in min for everyday driving as 280bhp was more than enough.
  24. You'd have to get a blanking plate fo rthe transfer case...no rwd. Also I'm not sure if this require equal length drive shafts.....Octy are definately unequal...if it does I don't know but doubt it would line up properly.
  25. Rear suspension on an Octavia is non adjustable. Not needed for fitting a strut brace either as it just goes between the strut mountings...suspension not touched.
