  1. Pleased to see your Yeti is repairable, even more interested to hear the garage restored your Smart Roadster. We have a Roadie Light, I purchased back in 2005, love it to bits but it's starting to look a little sad and is a bit of a handful to keep in a straight line these days. Was it a complete restore or just body work?
  2. Considered an Evoque and then reality set in, they are far too pricey for me to justify the expense and it's too wide to fit in our garage. Yes, it does look like a trainer, but then in my opinion the Yeti looks slightly gawky too. I can forgive it, I rather like the lumpen Skoda aesthetic, I think the boxy Skoda is a better fit in the countryside. However, the Evoque probably best reflects the aspirations of modern country dwellers, I just can't envision it crapped up in a sheep field doing the job of a faithful Defender or Disco. So, probably right not to give it a workhorse LR badge. Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a black edition Yeti, which my Dad mistook for a Hummer when we passed him in the street yesterday! It was nearly dark and he'd had a couple of pints, so we forgave him ;-). Finally, in response to the girl car/ boy car comment. I'm a woman driving a Yeti, so if you are a car misogenist, sorry to erode your manliness, the Yeti is a girls car too. I'll go back to my flower arranging now.
  3. Me too. So far I'm really impressed. I take it you are loving your new purchase? I went for a dsg model and it's a lovely thing, really smooth power delivery and loads of torque on demand. It's much more refined than the 1.6 tdi Audi A3 I've stepped out of and great on the motorway. Based on the Maxidot computer I was also surprised to get 48mpg average on my 25 mile each way commute, brilliant for a new engine in a car with a combined 44mpg average. Comfort - tick Visibility - tick Practicality - tick Road hold - tick Performance - tick (plenty for me) Pimpmobile looks - tick With an El Niño event forecast for later this year, all I can say is 'bring it on'.
  4. Ditto pensta. I also collect my black, Black edition on Monday. :-) 2 more sleeps to go.
  5. Four more sleeps to go, can't wait. I'm currently driving around in our keeper Smart roadster because I've knackered my knee and struggling to use the clutch on my regular car. It's been fun being back in the roadie, but taking the roof off to get the dog in and out is getting beyond a joke. I originally intended to go for a 1.2 tsi elegance. So a 2 litre, diesel 4x4 without the all the toys is a bit of a surprise, felt like a really good bit of kit when we tried it so fingers crossed she'll join the roadie as a keeper :-) Should have also said, this will be my second Skoda - I had a Fabia back in 2000, so I've been through all of the Skoda jokes before.
  6. Hi All I've been lurking around these parts for a little while now and having put a deposit down on a Yeti Black Edition today, thought I should join, express my thanks for such a useful site and say Helllo....Hello. Now wondering if my chosen Black Edition is too just too black! Should I have gone for the white Black Edition? Eek. Black and white aren't the best options for country life, but hoping it will be a great car to live with and not as 'long in the tooth' as some reviews say.
