  1. Mine were passed off as stone chips. Both front doors are covered below the rub strip and there's quite a few bubbles coming up above it now. I think I'll just get a freind with a body shop to take them back to bare metal and repaint the whole door.
  2. To keep this updated for anyone interested. Ridgeway Skoda in Reading were more than happy to look at it, confirmed the base had a short and the back had too high resistance, they replaced both and it was covered by the warranty. It now heats up much faster and much hotter than it ever has. They also cured the slow starting issue it's had since I bought it and that my local dealership could not fix. Ridgeway were super helpful, professional and polite. For once I actually bothered to complete the customer survey, they deserved it.

No idea on size, it's an infinity one I bought off eBay for £40. Firs ok though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The bottoms of my 2009 yeti doors are covered in rusty pock marks. Not sure at that age and 75000 miles I'll have much joy getting it rectified. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Some news. In my rage at my local dealers response yesterday I fired off a stern email to the Skoda Approved Used Warranty complaints email address. They just rang me at work. They said as long the element was faulty and had not been damaged due to damage to the seat it will be covered and the dealer was talking nonsense. They've put a note on the warranty file that I will be getting it inspected at a dealer and for them to expect a claim submission shortly. Happy days!
  6. This is encouraging, do yo know what the fault was? My local dealer just flat out refused to look at it. They said the last few they had put forward were rejected so no point in trying unless I wanted to pay for it.
  7. ....according to my local dealer. Has anyone had this answer? I've read the policy document and it's a bit of a grey area.
  8. Yeah, it locks off the fob.
  9. Hi All, My yeti has a problem with the filler flap actuator hardly ever working. The good news is it's under Skoda used car warranty and they've approved the claim to have it repaired. The bad news is that due to parts for other issues with the car being on back order it will be a while till it's booked in. I tried to persuad them to do the work in two sessions but they've refused telling me they are not allowed and to call Skoda assist if the car fails. Brilliant. I need to use the car for circa 2,000 miles over the next couple of weeks including towing a race car to Anglesey for the Mission Motorsport Race of Remembrance. I can't afford to be stranded with being unable to fuel the thing. So to the point, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the flap unlocked permanently until the repair? Thanks!
  10. Oh blimey don't say that! Better book it in with Skoda and see what they say. [emoji24] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The battery was fitted by the dealer when I bought it in May as the battery in it was shagged. Maybe they just chucked another battery off the forecourt in it but they did say it was new. I'm in Basingstoke. I'll update my profile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The car is under a 1 year used warranty from Skoda so I have no intention of replacing anything myself. All I want is to see if anyone else had experienced it and what the problem was. Nothing comes up on a fault reader I've used but I am yet to take it to my local Skoda dealer to have them look at it. I want to have a list of things I can put to the dealer as I am well aware what they are like, most are just fitters and blindly follow the computer and list of instructions handed down from Skoda on high. I build and race MX5s as a hobby so I know how a proper mechanic should diagnose and resolve an issue and I'm not going to accept "Computer says no" so I want to be as armed with examples as possible. I'm also skint (see above comment about race cars) and I don't want to be paying Skoda for time and fault scans for them to come back and say they can't find anything wrong with it. I assume that unless they find something to fix and it gets approved as a warranty repair I have to foot all the bills.
  13. Tada! Did it today. This was from cold. I held it on the starter the same both times.
  14. Nope, nothing. Just goes to start as normal then dies when the starter stops. If it was a petrol car I would suspect no spark. It's weird on these though as you can't hold it on the starter, it only runs for a pre set time then disengages. I'll try videoing a few starts over the next few days and see if I can capture it.
  15. Yup, no running problems at all once started. If you turn it off it's pot luck as to whether it'll start first time or not even if it's a quick off then on again.
