  1. Hi Guys, I haven't posted in a long while. Ive ordered a new sump due to the plug just spinning in the pan, I managed to temporarily fix with helicoil insert but its slowly leaking a small amount of oil. Is this a straight forward job or is there any tricks to it/or anything to be wary of when doing so? Also, after fitting a new turbo after the old one shat itself (excuse my French) I seem to have developed a boost leak or something. I initially thought it was coming from the small joining hose from the bottom of the intercooler (standard) however after replacing this, the problem still persists and I'm fed up of the masses of black smoke, the loud hissing and massive loss of power. Everything was cleaned thoroughly including the EGR, Intercooler, oil feed pipe. I cannot work out where the issue lies. So thats problem one, I spoke to a mechanic and he advised me to change the mass air flow sensor. I'm not too clued up as to why, I have minimal mechanical skills but I managed to do all the other jobs myself, so I aim to carry on the same way, is the mass air flow sensor easy to replace and will it make the blindest bit of difference to my problem? Any words of wisdom are kindly appreciated.

  3. I paid £200 on eBay + my old turbo for a brand new one
  4. I recently fitted a new turbo and ever since I can hear a distinctive blowing (sounds like when you blow a bit of paper) and a lack of power. I'm also getting a fair bit of black smoke. When I changed the turbo I cleaned out the EGR valve thoroughly and all pipes etc (including intercooler). I think I have narrowed it down to air leaking from the pipe coming out from the bottom of the inter cooler, is this a common place for boost to leak from? Although I managed to change the turbo, im not completely savvy with all of the parts and when I type in 'boost pipes' or 'intercooler pipes', I'm faced with lots of different options, can anyone point me in the direction of a direct replacement please?
  5. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is too replace a turbo on Fabia PD130 ASZ engine. I've bought all the parts but garages are quoting astronomical prices to fit! Is there a reason for this, such as it being difficult?
  6. The AWD calipers do fit, you just need a 6mm spacer I believe on the carriers.
  7. Hi Guys, I have a 04 Fabia VRs and on the last MOT an advisory for the rear brakes was given, and in the last month I replaced the discs and the pads. At the same time, the handbrake was non existent so when I done this, I adjusted the handbrake and it seemed to work....for about 2 weeks! The handbrake lever is still quite stiff and only clicks 4-5 times, but the handbrake doesnt actually work still. Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.
  8. If you still have this I can pick up today
  9. May seem quite silly, but my headlights are in a similar state to this, using sandpaper doesnt seem like a good idea to me, I fail to see how this doesnt scratch up the headlight, any tips on how you went about it?
  10. These straps are for sale on Ebay for £10 posted (without the bolt) for those who missed out
  11. I have a Mk1 Fabia VRS and I plan to paint the front chrome grill. Has anyone done this themselves? Or can anyone offer any advice as to what the best way to go about this is?
  12. I bought a Fabia Mk1 VRs last Friday, its in pretty decent nick, I have it booked in to get the spoiler re-painted due to a bit of laquer peel, also getting the grill painted, ordered some new style Skoda badges for the front and rear. The thing I have been looking for is a Cupra R style front splitter but cannot seem to find them anywhere! Can anyone recommend where to look please?
