  1. 5E5945112 is right hand lights for a hatchback, but not LED 5E5945112A is the LED version. Edit: these are the parts for the pre-facelift version, if you have a facelift (split headlights) there are 2 LED versions, high or low (I don't know the part numebrs though).
  2. I Had a 63 plate Elegance spec MkIII, it had the 3-spoke wheel too.
  3. I've had the same issue with mine from leaving dashcam on for a week. Except I'd previously had drivers door damage (that's another story...), so the emergency key lock didn't work. RAC guy had to jack the car up and jump it via the starter motor, which gave just enough power to remote unlock the car. Useful fact to know that the starter motor is accessible from under the car, and has a permenant battery feed.
  4. Top picture is for 1 wheel, bottom one is for the set of 4.
  5. When I needed a repair on my Ocatavia, my insurer wanted to use their 'approved' repairer, which turned out to be a Vauxhall garage?! I told them I wanted to use a "Manufacturer approved repairer", which they grudgingly accepted, and sent it to a local Audi garage.
  6. Couple of useful links below: https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/recommended-sd-cards-avoid-sandisk-ultra-cards https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/microsd-options-including-mlc-cards.26035/ Basically, it depends on what type of flash memory the card uses. MLC is a slightly older tech than TLC (which offers higher capacity), but MLC has much better endurance. In a dashcam the whole card is constantly being written and erased, so endurance is a major factor. Also useful in these links are details on which manufacturers will void the SD card warranty if it's used in a dashcam.
  7. What options did you want that it's not got? Depending on what they are, retrofitting or enabling via VCDS might be possible...
  8. Instead of tinting the reflectors yourself, just buy them already tinted? http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-RS-original-Skoda-rear-bumper-reflector-set-MONTE-CARLO-dark I got them for mine, and they do look much better.
  9. "Normal" Octavia MKIII mudflaps fit perfectly on the vRS, even though the dealers say they won't. I've got a vRS, and had a non vRS MKIII and the flaps fit exactly the same (and perfectly) to both. The only thing is that the vRS is slightly lower than the standard, so you need to be a bit more careful with about scraping the flaps on high kerbs. I've not had any issues so far though.
  10. The linked power curves on that page show the stock engine doing 260bhp!! Is that a one off anomoly of the engine they tested, or do most/all (my?) 230's put out that kind of power...
  11. You even got it in the right colour! Is that a lane assist or high beam assist camera I can see on the windscreen? If it's lane assist, get someone with VCDS to activate high beam assist if you don't have it. Traffic sign recogition is useful too.
  12. It is possible to input 7 digit postcodes on a 2016/2017 Octavia sat nav. Annoyingly you have to switch back to the letters keyboard to input the space the after the first part, then when you switch back to numerical input, it works!
  13. I stand corrected. I don't think their search function likes me :-(
  14. Note that's the part for the Hatchback. If you have an estate, the part doesn't seem to be available from skodaparts, superskoda link: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-Combi-original-Skoda-Autoas-LED-tail-light-RIGHT
  15. About £120 Make sure you get the correct one (hatchback vs estate). You can order them through a Skoda dealer, or from somewhere like SuperSkoda or SkodaParts.

  17. Instructions on how to change the headlight washer behaviour (using VCDS) http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/322253-disabling-the-headlight-washers/#entry4014369
  18. Right, I collected the two bulb carriers today and fitting commenced! Full list of required parts: rear light clusters (Octavia hatchback LED): 5E5945111A, 5E5945112A bulb carriers (Octavia hatchback LED variant): 5E5945257A, 5E5945258A The first step after removing the light cluster (see owners manual) was removing the 5 screws that hold in the original bulb carrier so I could get at the bulbs. The bottom 3 bulbs (fog, indicator and reversing) were removed and placed into the new carrier. The connector for the LEDs from the new cluster was then plugged into the carrier, and the carrier attached using 4 of the 5 screws from the original carrier. I then removed the foam sealing strip thing from around the external connector on the old carrier and stuck it to the new carrier. You may need to invest in some double sided tape depending on how sticky the foam is after removal. I'm presuming this foam is to maintain some kind of seal around the cable to keep things nice and clean/dry. I then inserted the new cluster into my car (after connecting the cable), and wiggled and pushed it around untill the two rubber ball things on the outside edge went into the holes properly. Repeat for the cluster on the other side, do the VCDS magic described here, not forgetting to enable security access first (the code is 31347, VCDS should prompt and tell you anyway)! They you can enjoy your new slightly nicer looking rear lights
  19. Right, parts ordered from my friendly local dealer. Theye did ask if I was sure, since "these aren't the standard parts for you car", which I said was fine. £17.99 each. Will update when I get them fitted....
  20. Since the required VCDS adaptations for fitting rertofitting LED tail lights were posted recently, I thought I'd take the plunge and fit some. Ordered a left and right assembly from superskoda and today was to be the day hey would be fitted, except.... They don't come with the "bulb carrier", the black insert thing into the back of the cluster that hold the remaining bulbs (only the brake lights are LED). Arse. So after much googleing I have the part numbers for the left and right carriers: 5E5945257A 5E5945258A But I couldn't find anywhere to actually buy them. Does anyone here know of anywhere I might try, or would my local Skada dealer be able to order the parts for me at a not extortionate price? Also if anyone spots that these are the wrong parts for an octy 3 hatchback, I would be greatful to know! Thanks for any suggestions.
  21. I replaced my grill surround with the black one too. It's a right royal pain to remove the old one, and you break it to bits in the process (if you don't fancy taking the whole bumper off to do it). You have to break off about 12 little clips around the edge of the current surround to get it out. I used a small (sharp) flat head screwdriver and a hammer to 'cut' my way through each clip. Just be careful not to damage bits it clips onto! Got mine from superskoda, and the black finish matches exactly with the black magic colour of my car.
