  1. The facelift has probably been in the planning stages for about 18 months, so I would have thought there is relatively little wriggle room to delay the changes. Presumably the tooling changes are planned to take place when the factory closes for Christmas?
  2. Looking online, it seems the mid-life facelift of the Karoq is due to be unveiled in the coming weeks, with deliveries planned to start in early 2022. I wonder if any of us who placed orders in the latter half of 2021 will end up with facelifted cars as a result of the delays?
  3. Latest update: my order has reverted to 'accepted by the factory' and I no longer have a provisional build date. I am now contemplating the cost of having to put the Octavia through an MOT, possibly its third service and, if this drags into next year, two new tyres.
  4. Just contacted Skoda for an update. It has now moved to week 45, which means early-mid November. Still unconfirmed.
  5. I ordered my Karoq (SE Drive) on 30 July. Skoda virtual chat have advised it has been allocated a provisional build week of 43, which is mid-Oct. I was advised to check again in 2 weeks to see if that has been confirmed. If confirmed, it should be on track for delivery by 31 Dec, which was the dealership's estimated handover. We shall see.
  6. Crazy, isn't it. And Skoda charge £595 and £975 for the same colours.
  7. That's interesting, I didn't know that. That said, if I could afford an Edition I'd probably have bought an XC40 instead. The point is that even a poverty spec Ateca has metallic paint at no cost. It wipes out the small difference in cost between two cars of comparable spec. Whichever way you cut it, charging that much extra for paint is pulling your pants down.
  8. Build week 33 is next week, so hopefully it won't be a piece of paper for long! It sounds like the dealer had already ordered the car or, more likely, grabbed a car already allocated to the UK but not a specific dealer. I was offered a car that was in production but the spec was totally different to what I wanted. Don't count on being able to retrofit every option after you take delivery. Things that can be activated in software are one thing, but major changes to the hardware may not be possible. If the car doesn't have all your must haves, I recommend you speak to the dealer Sounds like a fantastic spec. I went for Petrol Blue too. Sadly the leather is beyond my reach, but yours is a great combination!
  9. Oh yeah, I'm fully aware of that! This particular Seat salesman told me PCPs were tough for Skoda because of their low residuals. A quick 5 mins comparing deals on Google would tell you that Seat residuals are no better, and more often than not worse than Skoda. You would think someone tasked with selling Cupras at 40 grand a pop would wake up in a cold sweat thinking about residuals! That said, it's still infuriating that Velvet Red is a £900+ option for a Karoq but a zero cost option for an Ateca.
  10. I ordered a Karoq SE Drive at the end of July. Estimated handover according to the order form is 31 December. I haven't had any further contact from the dealer yet, so I assume it'll be a while before a build week is allocated. I also looked at a Ateca, but the dealer was a bit of a flute so I didn't order one. Anyway, he made a big show of telling me that certain Cupra models wouldn't even be built until 2022 if ordered now.
  11. I'd say about a month or so after it's built, but it could be a little longer with the current shortage of HGV drivers. May I ask when you ordered the car? I ordered a new Karoq 3 weeks ago and was quoted 5 months until estimated delivery.
