Liking the black chrome, how much did it set you back?

I've never really looked in detail at the DRLs, but would assume that peak luminous intensity will be on axis and therefore when you bend down in front of the car they will be brighter. Both posts were helpful, just those in the middle less so ;-)

I'm keeping out of this one. Very difficult to show intensity and colours in photographs.

I think silver1011 was talking about poorly fitted DRLs not being the same 'brightness' when viewed head on i.e. the left one is less 'bright' than the right or vice versa. I think retro fitted ones tend to look poor and very chavvy, but those ones above don't look too bad, but perhaps they could do with being further out from the centre like on the FL, but you can't due to the fogs.

But you won't get 550 miles out of the diesel around town which is the 250 - 300 that Im gouki quoted. I would go for the petrol.

Mine did this. I took it in to the dealer who fitted a new unit under warranty. Added bonus was that I got the latest firmware that speeded up the sd card reading.

Press and hold the up / down button on the end of the stalk until the menu pops up. You then use the same button to scroll and the reset button to select.

Does your Scout have the AFS II xenon headlights? Maybe the VRS has the older xenons that don't have the cornering feature and so the self check on start up is not so obvious?

Try twisting the nozzle round a bit. I find holding the the handle at roughly the ten o'clock position and not fully inserting the nozzle works.

Mine did this and it was replaced under warranty as the garage said it was faulty. Bonus was that I got the latest Bolero that read the SD reasonably quickly rather than having to wait minutes for it to read it.

I am on my second car from Motorline, and have never had a problem with them. Very efficieint and always the cheapest Skoda dealer for servicing, but perhaps it goes to show their service is not consistent.

Yep, use them for my current octavia and the previous fabia. Very good service and always the cheapest local main dealer for servicing.

My Bolero has a mind of it's own! It has turned itself on when the car is locked and also randomly changes to media from radio when I'm driving along. Been in to the dealer today who say it is faulty and will order another bolero in if they can. They seem to think the bolero is being replaced with a new unit and hence they may not be able to get one. Perhaps your bolero is faulty rather than the steering wheel controls?

Surely you have the Bolero head unit if it is brand new? This has an integral cd multi changer and not a separate one in the boot - try pressing the eject button on the top right! You should push the dealer for a manual. Where did you buy the car?. Hope you enjoy it.

If I remember correctly this is normal. In certain scenarios the car will not rev beyond a certain limit even with the throttle to the floor. I'm sure mine does this when stationary. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows the exact details!

I had the same response from my dealer, so would be interested to know where I could get it updated!

I found the other day that there must be some sort of protection circuit if you try the washers when they are frozen as my wipers stopped wiping after a couple of attempts. Stopping and starting the car (after it had warmed up nicely from driving for an hour) appeared to reset the wipers and the washer worked - had stopped at the services to see what was going on!

I asked about the firmware update when they had the car to investigate an alarm fault - so would have thought they might have checked, but they clearly don't know what to do so thought I would try a dealer that knows of the update.

Well my local dealer in Dartford is not aware of any update. Does anybody know of a dealer that is aware of the update and can flash the latest firmware. Getting really fed up with the painfully slow sd card. If not will have to try Danish Vikings program.

Has a firmware update notice been issued for the bolero to speed up the reading of SD cards? My local dealer in Dartford has no information as is not aware of the issue!

Do you mean press & hold? Will have a look at mine tomorrow as the sd card reading is painfullly slow. Would be interesting to know the firmware version of the units that read the sd card quickly to see if the dealer can do an update!

Yes, the redline in my Cr Vrs is already @ 5000rpm and it was delivered in November 2009.
