  1. Well I also just received my HTC One M9 this morning and performed some tests. I can confirm all the following applications show up as compatible and work (if you at least create accounts and buy premium versions for some of them) weather pro parkopedia aupeo! Audioteka Car Sygic Car navigation (also when driving) I'm happy it works this time. It took me to buy a very expensive phone to make Mirrorlink work, but at least I can now enjoy the car with a GPS.
  2. Got a reply from Sygic that the HTC One Mini 2 is not Mirrorlink 1.1 compatible (it has an old HTCMirrorlink application version), so i'm returning the phone and cancelled the Sygic Car Navigation, full refund. At least this gives me the opportunity to test. I'll now buy an HTC One M9 as this one should be compatible as stated on the Mirrorlink website and Skoda website. I keep you guys updated.
  3. In the end I thought it was time to fix this issue by buying one of the compatible phones and give it a try to get it over with. It has been a funny few days, with ups and downs, but I guess/hope I only need to take the last hurdle to make it work. So what is the situation? I bought a HTC One Mini 2 (Android 4.4.2) It has Mirrorlink support through the pre-installed HTC Car application who is listed on the bolero system Does anyone know the version of Mirrorlink the bolero unit supports at the moment? The connection works and when not driving I managed to use google maps, see pictures, see a movie and listen to my music on the phone Sometimes the connection can not be made (timeout), but restarting the bolero unit will restart the mirrorlink connection to solve it I bought Sygic Car navigation Premium version and it works when launched through the HTC Car application The problem is that when I start driving the application stops working: "Application unavailable", so I guess I have a certificate problem. I re-installed sygic full version with activation key, but without any result. This issue is described here http://help.sygic.com/hc/en-us/articles/206751537-Troubleshooting I contacted Sygic for help, but would like to ask around if someone had this issue. Sygic is not listed as a compatible Mirrolink application on the Bolero... and none of the other applications as well from google play. Someone has a working app I can install?
  4. Still think it's a bolero issue and they know it. It's easier to blame the phone then to solve the issue in a sold product. Who is your Skoda dealer in Belgium? You can PM me if you do not want to disclose this information.
  5. Yo, Same situation here in Belgium, get a HTC One M8 with Android 4.4, it's the only one working. It's the one shown in the Skoda demo video's on youtube. I cancelled my S5 order because of this. PS: Did you got any feedback from Skoda Import Belgium? By phone or my email? Who is your contact person? I'll contact them. Maybe we can file a complaint together.
  6. The compatibility list has been updated on the Skoda website A new list is available for construction date 25/5/2015 http://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/ No news from dealer and almost ready to file a complaint.
  7. If you make it work, Let us know. I guess It's not possible, S5 is not listed as compatible on the skoda compatibility list before construction week 25/5/2015 http://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/ This site was updated this week, but very slow at the moment. Please follow this thread for pre CW 22 and join the club http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/357070-mirrorlink-update-from-skoda-uk-2952015/
  8. The Kenwood MIB NAV looks very nice http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/vw-garmin-nav-upgrade-for-composition-media https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CebkJM2Ex0Y Garmin 782 Euro 3D Updateable navigation maps 8 M POI at least a lot better then what pioneer AVIC-F260VAG is offering (interface is ugly and old school) http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/25/111/241/AVIC-F260/specs.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ioqx5hvjYis Navteq on SD 419 euro Europe countries 10.9 M POI They both claim to offer GPS on Bolero / Fabia MK3 radio's By using the MEDIA button listen to the radio at the same time If Skoda does not come up with a solution, other companies will. I would accept to pay 1/3 for this Kenwood if it was offered to me, seems to be the best deal available of the moment for some of you. Dealing with this issue on an individual basis is the easiest way for Skoda not to make a lot of noise, only the ones who speak up gets rewarded, the new way of dealing with customers. I'm waiting for feedback from the importer and the dealer, patience is required as I have to contact them every week for feedback.
  9. Nice job  Indeed, base yourself on the Skoda compatibility list to be sure. The "HTC One M8" seems to work on android 4.4 and 5, so far the only remaining solution if you would like to upgrade your OS. It's not a bad phone, the price is dropping and in a few months the last option will not be sold anymore, so you know what to do or ask your dealer. http://www.amazon.co.uk/HTC-One-32GB-Free-Smartphone/dp/B00BFC59T4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1435253760&sr=8-3&keywords=HTC+One+M8 So far the fastest and cheapest option to have an integrated solution if Skoda keeps ignoring us.
  10. http://www.sygic.com/car-navigation/features https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sygic.incar&utm_source=sygic.com&utm_medium=header-features&utm_campaign=features It needs to be the full "Sygic Car navigation" version. The other versions have no certificate/license to be used when driving. And as said before, use the data-USB cable who came with the phone. PS: Do not update your phone to Android 5 if you use kitkat, if you did it already and it works, please confirm, so we know. Keep us updated
  11. I recently had a talk with my dealer again and he asked me if I solved the Mirror link issue So I explained him it was his problem and not mine and I again requested a compensation. I'll contact them again next week and ask contact information for the national level, dealers are clearly not informed. I would surely reject an external TomTom satnav, this is a joke. A new car radio or Pioneer GPS system are my two integrated proposals. The phone offer from Seat can be used as a counter argument to show they are aware of the issues inside the VW group. Keep sharing info, we can all benefit from the proposed solutions. PS: In a few months the currently compatible phones (and new ones) with MirrorLink should go down in price and become more interesting if this is the only option.
  12. The cost for skoda would be the same as to install the Pioneer GPS solution into the car. This way the residual value of the car will be higher and our car will not be treated as the <CW 22 version, imagine you would like to sell this car in a few years and need to deal with >CW 22 cars. So better keep the car as long as possible. Better go for a solution that keeps its value than invest into an unstable software solution based on long update/upgrade cycles without certified applications. Android car will take over and MirrorLink is already dead and buried. It's maybe time to accept that this technology has failed, Skoda knows this and VW group also. But I agree that some sort of compensation is required.
  13. Hello, I'm new to the forum but wanted to contribute something to this thread as I'm in the same situation. The situation is clear that we early buyers are stuck with a MirrorLink installation that only supports 4 smartphones (Android Kitkat 4.4) with no planned updates based on the VW group announcement. HTC One (M8) Sony Experia Z2 Sony Experia Z3 Sony Experia Z3 Compact Dealers offer different information or are asked to avoid the issue. And it's clear that the MirrorLink- , Skoda compatibility - and Skoda software update websites are providing the wrong information. In my case I only wanted to have a cheap GPS solution, but now we need to invest +/- 10% of the car cost to fix the issue (phone + software) This leaves us with some remaining options and I would like to check them with all of you in order to negotiate with my dealer to fix the problem. 1/ Can we install SmartLink? 2/ What's the cost to replace the Bolero unit by the Amundsen system ( announced for 06/2015) ? 3/ We can install the Pioneer GPS module for Bolero as proposed to me http://navishop.nl/pioneer-skoda-octavia-navigatie-upgrade-bolero-systeem-p-16781.html I guess this solution will be a lot better then MirrorLink anyway due to stable software, screen usage, map updates, phone is available when using build in GPS, warranty and support. 4/ Is it a good idea to wait for a possible software solution (MirrorLink + Skoda)? 5/ File a complaint and see if Skoda will react by providing software or hardware fixes. In the end we can just all use an external smartphone connected to the dashboard  It's a fantastic car but this problem just made our car outdated from the start without GPS, so it's a bad investment PS: I also have issues with my Samsung GS2 (I know its kinda old) when using the Bluetooth A2DP audio stream profile, the sound is muted on the car after a few seconds (also every time after un-muting), anyone else with this issue? Do not forget to enjoy the car
