  1. Did mine yesterday was ok except the rear right of the cover a metal vaccum pipe gets in the way, I had to strip down a lot to get the cover off. Plugs don't get removed. Mime leaked like crazy and the gasket had gone all crispy.
  2. Hi Andy, nice car I have its predecessor. Mk1 vrs. There is a picture in the gallery, its the Irish plated one, "red".
  3. This old chap is on the last leg of being brought back to good health. It was almost a basket case parked up round the side of a house and requiring quite a lot of work. But now its got its growl back and is catching eyes once again. Imported from UK in 2004.
  4. A friend of mine has a red monte carlo, its gorgeous.
  5. I had a 1.2 HTP fabia up until 3 months ago. Great car, suffered a bit with split vacuum pipes "age" and were the brake master cylinder vacuum pipe goes in at the back of the throttle body is prone to splitting. I found this large vac leak when I had the air cleaner "whole plastic top of the engine" off to inspect the throttle body, when I placed my hand over the inlet to restrict air flow the engine didn't choke and stall. Their was a large split were the pipe goes in. Don't if this is the case be tempted to cut the pipe and rejoin as it is larger diameter were it joins. I had to scavenge for larger diameter pipe and make a temporary repair which worked well. Also my mpg's rose significantly. Also if you try and get the pipe to fit using heat such as hot water it will likely split, it isn't very flexible and doesn't like to be stretched. I also bought a fault code reader as they are pretty cheap now and you can easily turn off the mil light. Hope this helps a bit.
  6. Hi, new to this site. Rescued an old warrior Octy vrs from a slow death parked up round the side of a house. plenty of problems 3000 rpm stutter wheel bearing growl knackered shocks and plenty more including several months of abandonment. Pleased to say back on the road tommorow, only one front shock left to do "not pleasant" and a de tar and t cut. Great old chap loads of character.
