  1. After more phonecalls from skoda UK I have now been informed that my mirrorlink will work if I buy sygic. Can anyone confirm this for me? I suggested that sygic is not a platform to allow the other apps to work also such as auepo or parkopedia etc and since the s6 has the phone itself listed as a mirrorlink app then it should connect and not cancel the connection. All I have ever seen on my mirrorlink is connection cancelled and mirrorlink error. I feel like I'm going round in circles with this.
  2. I have tried the s6 I could not get it to work with mine. I just recieved an error screen with Mirrorlink:error. It did however do a lot more than all the other phones I have tried. On a side note, my dealer reckons there are only 40 affected customers in the UK with mirrorlinkgate related problems. 40 knocked off garmins = £2k ish = cheapest hush money ever!!
  3. My latest update from VwFS. Since your phone that you had when you bought the car wasn't on the compatibility list... I'm afraid it's just tough luck. Even though there was two compatibility lists that have since changed and I cannot tell you why all the phones you have tried will not get the system working. Please accept this fob off as this is what Kate at skoda has told me to tell you. I suggest you take the Garmon and feel lucky we even offered you anything!!
  4. i believe i can still uphold my problem of misselling because my mirrorlink will not work...at all. it will not connect to any phones i have tried. i have a complaint with VWFS currently and Skoda UK. Skoda UK will not budge on their offer of a free sat nav to solve this. i recently spoke to VWFS who said they have spoke to Skoda and started the ball rolling, then Skoda contacted me to tell me that they havent heard from VWFS. Im getting really stressed out with all of this nonsense. i want to take this to trading standards but im unsure whether to wait from the VWFS outcome or not?
  5. So sorry for my earlier mistake on the goods act date. I am not exactly a legal Eagle. I have since done some research and if the car is not as described and it is bought on finance this leaves VwFS in breach of contract. The finance provider is legally responsible for the condition of the car under the implied goods act. This in turn leaves you with the legal right to reject the car and receive any money paid towards the contract. Hope this helps
  6. So I have complained for weeks now and they haven't even had the courtesy to keep me updated (much like mirrorlink). Has anyone contacted the ombudsman or citizens advice? Under the sales of goods act 1996 they have an obligation to find a suitable solution to this problem. If I bought a phone and it didn't work as described I would have a new one free of charge with a half hearted apology. I can say this is my first and last skoda.
  7. I feel bad as i done all my research online for my fabia. the dealer never sold me the car, i told them what i wanted and explained that i wanted the SE because of the mirrorlink. The dealer was unaware of the mirrorlink issues, i believe Skoda UK have kept them in the dark too as for a while i was keeping my dealer updated with the outcome. im all up for taking them (Skoda UK) on!! The customer service is appauling and i refuse to be fobbed off with a cheap garmin.....wish id just bought the polo.
  8. newbie here..... i have been following this post intently as i am having the very same mirrorlink dramas. i am a completely doesnt work customer having tried every brand of phone on the planet and getting the connection cancelled notification. Skoda UK have passed me from pillar to post but have now offered me a Garmin Sat nav too, which i am not willing to take either. The reason i have reared my head on here is because the during my last conversation with her i stated i feel tied into a contract (as i have financed my car) to which the product does not do as originally stated therefore i feel misold....her reply was a snooty....well the car isnt even yours till you have paid it off so i suggest you contact VWFS and take that up with them. VWFS have said they dont deal with technical issues and have passed me back to Skoda UK. So i need help from your good selves? what should be my next move? P.S i really like the car itself and they have discontinued my colour....yellow of course :sun:
