  1. No mate. The BC's height adjustment is separate to the spring preload so I could lower it to the point it was undriveable if I wanted lol I think once I get my Mitsi sold I'll keep some money saved to buy the cleanest one I can find. Ideally want something as standard as possible this time round or maybe breathed upon but only if it's done very very well.
  2. Thanks mate. It was on BC Racing coilovers. Fantastic coilover for the money. Wheels were Merc reps in 19x8.5j ET42 on 225/35/19 tyres Hey Dean. Long time no speak. I actually sold the car earlier this year and truth be told I've missed it ever since. Starting to get notions of buying another MK1 vRS though as a toy to replace it.
  3. I think you might be biased :P I definitely like the idea of carbon goodies Dean, cheers
  4. Well I had the car at the local show season opener and biggest show in Northern Ireland over the weekend, Dubshed. To be happy with the car being inside I finally took the time to de-tar, clay bar and polish it. I also added Skoda centre caps to the new wheels to tie it all in and put some fitted carpet mats in it for the show. I'll keep my fitted rubber ones in for daily use. Planning a few more touches over the year but I'm undecided what I want to do first. Really considering bagging it but it's a lot of money I could put to good use elsewhere. Also thinking of getting the black headlights for it but haven't found many reviews on how good they are. Exhaust is on the cards too lol Any input would be much appreciated. Cheers, Aaron
  5. No buddy. Keeping them for winter wheels. Cheers dude Maybe I will some day
  6. So finally got my plate transferred onto the car and added more front camber to give me more clearance, think I need to drop the rear a bit but I really need to go find some proper flat ground and make my mind up there. Also gave it a bath yesterday
  7. Should be able to make it all being well Where are we thinking?
  8. Well I finally got my wheels on at the weekend there! Then went home and washed it :P Love these wheels so much. Decided to go for a polished face instead as I feel it makes the wheel stand out more. Just need to fine tune my camber for a little bit more clearance on full suspension compression but I'm very happy with the height. Just need to get some centre caps made up and that's her done

  10. It all depends on the look you want for your car. I myself like things low, very low, so I went for some BC Racing coilovers and have dropped my car a good 60-70mm. If you don't want your car super low and enjoy having soft suspension and just want to subtly lower the car I'd take the advise of every one above and go for a good set of springs just. As for wheels the widest wheel you can fit reasonably without arch mods would be 9j wide with an offset of around ET41 but you would need a slight stretch on the tyre to ensure there are no rubbing issues. Something like a 225/35/19 tyre.
  11. Got the Octavia all cleaned up yesterday morning for a local Cars & Coffee meet. Loving how it's sitting at the minute. Wheels are also ordered so looking forward to getting them fitted soon. Went for 19 x 8.5j wheels ET38 all round with 225/35/19 Kumho tyres Also loving the new site!
  12. Better photo of the car all clean today :)
  13. Hello everyone. Finally got round to fitting the coilovers over the Christmas holidays there. Please excuse the dirt and reverse rake. Haven't got round to fine tuning the stance yet or washing it with the awful weather :/ Hoping to get a set of these next month to fill the arches... C63S Wheels! :D
  14. Went for Osram Blue Vision ones, look a lot nicer than the old yellowish ones. And Osram Diadem Chrome 581 bulbs for the indicators
  15. Cheers mate. No still have it on the drive, one of my mates is interested in it though so just finishing tidying it up for him and let him have a spin in it to see if he wants it
  16. Managed to get over 40mpg cruising down to see my parents yesterday. Great wee engines these! Wasn't even that long a journey :P
  17. Well it wasn't raining yesterday so I managed to get the bulbs all changed. Far better light off the new ones and the chrome indicator bulbs look nicer too ...although I soon figured out why my sidelight bulbs weren't working...they aren't wired up on a VRS :(
  18. Well last night I attempted to change my headlight bulbs, sidelight bulbs and indicator bulbs. Took me half an hour to get the drivers side headlight released but the passenger side just wouldn't budge, so I ended up refitting the drivers light and threw the new fancy bulbs into the glove box Might give it another go at lunch time
  19. I've had these coilovers before on a Passat and an A3 and they are very comfortable when set up correctly. Damping adjustable, camber adjustable and height is adjusted seperately from the spring preload so they always have full damper travel at whatever height you set them at. It's brilliant!
  20. Very nice Andy I've got some fancy BC Racing coilovers bought for mine already but I'm dubious about fitting them when the salt is all over the roads for winter lol
  21. So as a few of you may know I decided to upgrade to a newer Octavia... Dec 2009 Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TSI Facelift 53k on it and came with the usual spec of dual climate control, cruise control etc. but it also has full black leather Of course I can't leave anything alone for long so I sent it off to the bodyshop to get the front grill colour coded and the wheels refurbed and now it looks like this... Got the wheels done a lovely dark metallic grey. Looks darker in my phone photos so I'll have to get some proper photos taken with my DSLR. Future plans are to lower it a touch and maybe change the wheels in the new year Cheers, Aaron
  22. I'd love to see it go to a good home Browne
