  1. I fully agree with you, the problem is that I don't have any tools whatsoever. Seriously. I have a screwdriver and thats it. I moved recently and left everything with my ex. It must be the ****tiest thing to do, I was only hoping that maybe someone specialises in this so he knows all the know hows and so on.. I just need to keep this car on the road for another year and then I'll get rid of it. You might throw rocks at me, but I always hated it and can't wait to see it go.
  2. Update: Rather annoyingly it started to sound the alarm. Fortunately the locks were the next that went, so now I can't lock it, but at least it is quiet. Also a bit like Optimus Prime it flashes his lights randomly. Was just about to disconnect the battery when it all stopped, so now hopefully it will last in peace. I will get a quote this week from my usual place when I take it for the MOT (I'm sure it will fail it, the speed of these faults came out I'm sure something else will be gone by then) but if anyone knows some pro who can sort out such an issue, please let me know, as it still runs:)
  3. Hey Guys, So yes I was aware of this issue, and now boom, I'm one of those people too. I left the car for 10 days until I was away and this morning the water was dripping from everywhere inside, and there is an inch deep puddle beneath both front seats, the carpets started to mould and so on, so it is in a pretty bad shape. My question is, that if anyone knows a man or someone who would be able to sort this out for me. I live in Berkshire. If I take it to my usual place I'd pay a fortune just in servicing hours, and I really just want to keep the car for another year, so I'm trying to spend as little on it as possible. I'm also booked in for an MOT for next week, do you think I'll fail because of this issue? The lights still work at the back, the only thing that went so far are the park radar and the boot lights. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks a lot!
  4. I believe the cage comes with the new radio, but about the iso converter - is there a chance you can link one so I can see? Thanks!
  5. Hi All, I'm not sure I'm posting this to the correct place, but I give it a try. As I own a 2.0 TDI PD from the problematic BSS engine group I thought I get a used car warranty to cover a possible oil pump driveshaft/DPF issue for a year until I need to keep the car. Any of you had any experience with these or have a company or package to suggest? Its a 2007 with 108K with FSH (half Skoda, half indy) Thanks for any advice!
  6. Thanks, what I'll do is look into the filter next week to see what is going on and get in touch, thanks!
  7. Thanks for that! I will definitely bring it down to the station I use next week to get it checked out. Regarding the water-issue - the dampness was on the top of the passenger side carpet area seemed like coming from behind the dashboard, not anywhere else like underneath the seats or at the back. I'll look into this further. Thanks again for the help!
  8. I was thinking about something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-Receiver-Control-Variable-Illumination/dp/B00AZJUPT2/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1437241009&sr=1-12 I have a Parrot in the car installed, so I don't really need bluetooth, and never use the CD changer anyway. This is £109
  9. Cheers, I don't know how I managed to miss this post, thanks again!
  10. Hi All, as I just recently bought my Superb 07 plate 2.0 TDI PD with 108K so, a few things I thought I ask.. 1 - The radio - This symphony mp3 with the CD changer at the back is not the best I've ever seen, so the question is if I buy any 2 DIN sets will it fit plug and play? All I'm after to be honest is an AUX in, but have a £50 amazon gift card, so I thought I put that to good use and kill two birds with a stone and get a new set with built in aux for around £100 (Kenwood, JVC or Pioneer) but have literally zero audio knowledge and want to be sure if it is something I can do myself.. The radio without the plastic cover: 2: Wet footwell.. So this morning when I put in place the new mats I got I noticed that the carpet is wet at the passenger side, so by now I read all posts etc about the issue and I'm aware what might causing it. I haven't seen any pictures on how to do it at a Superb this whole pollen filter sealing, but I'm sure I'll figure it out - any sealant that is cheap and easy to get and use you could recommend? Meanwhile when I went down to make these pics it was already dry, so hopefully it is not gallons of water in the foot wells. 3: I also noticed this belt (not sure which one it is?) to be a bit of a used shape - the question (the rips (4-5) are around 2mm only on one side) is this a major issue and should take it to get it changed immediately, or it is still an acceptable level of usage on a belt? The car has FSH and had all belts changed properly so far. I need to know as I'm planning a 2500 mile journey in a week, so it's better to be safe than sorry. The picture below: Thanks for all the help guys!
  11. Hi! Well I think the trick is that it's a two man job, so I got my brother in to give me a hand. All we did was - Removing the side cover, and unscrewed every screw that was visible around the glove compartment. When this is done pulled the light out (comes out way too easily:) ) and untied the screw holding the release mechanism on the side. A bit of playing with it and the whole thing fell out only held by the airbag and the AC wires. As I only needed the lid off 2 hits onto the pins holding it on the bottom and the lid comes off. Nothing else holds the lid, but when it is in position you can't access it thats why we had to get the whole thing out. It took us two hours, and I hated every minute of it. Very cheap plastic and quality all around to be honest.
  12. Gents, it is all done. Took a few hours and playing with the ridiculous system holding it into place, but in the end the passat lid worked. Thanks a lot for all your help!
  13. Hi all! I recently purchased a Skoda Superb 2007, and everything seems to be perfect with the exception of the broken glove box lid.. I already purchased a new lid (05 Passat should be the same arrives next week), but can't find any guidance on how to remove the broken one. As it is only the lid (the little closing plastic bits are broken on mine) and not the whole thing - can someone steer me into the right direction if I can just pull it out or I'll need to unscrew something. Sorry, if it is a lame question, but I'm worried that I'll break something trying to pull it off. Thanks!
