What detailing products have you bought today...

CarChem snow foam. Hopefully better than the Autobrite stuff I just finished. -
Put a couple of tanks of Momentum through the car. Averaged 380 miles to a tank. I get better with the Shell regular fuel!

octavia vrs mk2 pre FL oil - Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30?
baptistsan replied to DoctorT's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Had an oil change done yesterday as t 56000 miles. This will give me the opportunity to monitor the oil usage on the car. Will report back. Must admit to never having had a car before that likes to drink oil quite so much! -
Glad it is not just me that finds V power not all it's cracked up to be. My only concern with the Tesco fuel is the higher levels of ethanol in it.Have given the new Esso Synergy a go, will put several tank fulls through and see how it performs. As it stands I get around 400 miles out of a tank of fuel.

Cavaian, big thanks for your efforts putting the above together. Will get the car booked in for some TLC this month with QT. Nice to hear that they're happy for you to poke around the car as they work on it. Thanks again!
-
Is there a write up of the day anywhere? Thinking of using QT to look after my VRS. TIA.

Thanks for that Paul. An interesting read. Keep thinking about getting mine mapped, so good to read as many owner experiences as possible.
-
Cheers for that. Will dig around for the thread.
-
Car looking good. Anymore feedback on the bluefin? Thanks.

Dropped the car off at Chaplane Colchester this morning. Work will take around a week. Hopefully this means everything is now sorted! Will update when I get the car back.

Have a full set on the VRS and am happy with them. Just increased the psi to counter the softer sidewall. They do appear to be wearing a little quicker than the previous Michelins, but as they're that much cheaper it balances out. Good in the dry and inspire confidence in the wet.

Basically I was like a dog with a bone. I kept pestering and hassling and made sure Skoda knew I wasn't just going to go away. To be fair the two guys at Skoda UK customer service were very good and it got to the point where they were embarrassed by how bad the dealers were. So my advice is to keep phoning them up, keep going back to your dealer, or use another one and keep getting the paint warranty claims sent through. HTH.
-
So paint inspection was sent off to Skoda, who came back and now agree that it is a warranty claim. Dealer will call and arrange a time for the work to be done. Underwoods call, sort a date and then get asked whether I need a courtesy car or not. When I tell them that I do require one I'm met with the news that there is a £5 admin charge for every day that I have the car. They think the car will be needed for somewhere between 7and 14 days, but it may be longer!! Informed them that I would speak to Skoda UK again as basically I think they're taking the **** a bit.

Have to say the new badges go really well with the black wheels. Keep the updates coming please.

I love yellow cars and your's looks fab. I guess I can understand you wanting to mellow it a little bit, the black accents will set it off nicely. Look forward to seeing more pics. As for leather treatment, think you can get hold of Zaino in Australia. I use it and it has my leather looking good and helps protect it. Think it's Z9 and Z10 you need.
