  1. Brought a Mk1 Fabia vRS from Sandicliffe Oct 2014, Since then I've been plagued with calls from them reminding me that it needs servicing (No it doesn't - I've already serviced it three times since purchase, and it's due again at Xmas as I've done 39.5k since purchase) and it needed an MOT (Organised that myself) Never had a call after I purchased it to see if I was happy with the car (I was, and still am) - Would have thought that was basic customer service. They won't take no for an answer. No matter how many times I ask them to desist from making calls to me, they just keep calling..... Possibly first and last time I ever go to a main dealer.
  2. Another thing to consider is to make sure that if the brakes have been bled, that they've all been bled - on a 130 (Saloon and Rapid) the rear drums and one half of the front 4 pot calipers are on the same circuit - not simply split front and back. I had 6 months of rubbish brakes on Ermintrude until I realised this simple fact......
  3. I'm with Hawkeracing - We didn't run a front ARB on our stage rally cars either.
  4. Brought a 13 year old Favorit in 2006 in a rush and as a temporary measure as my Astra had snapped its cambelt. Car cost £250 and had 12k on the clock - OAP owner used it to collect pension once a week - It had had so little use the tyres had been replaced previously as they'd perished! Over the next 6 years (Temporary measure?) it did 113k using mostly what I'd term consumables - 4 Tyres, 5 oil changes, 2 headgaskets (it's an alloy blocked Skoda after all - As far as I'm concerned headgaskets are consumables :p ) Exhaust and 2 no. CV joints. Do all my own work so nothing spent at garages except for MOT tests Eventually chopped it in and got £75 towards a Peugeot 306. Doubt anything else I own will ever beat that....
  5. Don't recall messing around with the jetting on mine, both on the standard and rally engines, Mileage still over 35mpg in both cases - Of course in this day and age it'd be better rejetted
  6. DGAV is the autochoke version - DGV is the manual choke, Mine came from the 1.6/2.0 Ford Pinto engine
  7. Hi all, New to this forum but not to Skodas - Rallied Estelles and Favorits between 1988 and 2002 as part of "Team Bouncing Czech" and still have an ex Skoda Trophy 130L now finally being rebuilt following a fire in 2009. On top of that I now have a Fabia vRS as a daily driver, this being Skoda number 10 in my ownership (others being 4 Estelle rally cars, 2 Estelle road cars, 2 Estelle spares cars and 1 Favorit road car) Not sure what else you'd want to know at the moment so I'm off to have a wander round the forum, Catch you later IanJ
