  1. Mine does this on steep decents, feels like a momentary cut-out on the engine. In three years of ownership it has never bothered me enough to investigate the cause
  2. I found this on my computer, not sure it's what you're looking for though. Skoda Octavia RS Brochure.pdf Skoda Octavia Brochure.pdf
  3. Just to add, my car had both the fuel sender unit and the external temperature sensor replaced. 70 kilometers later the fuel gauge dropped to empty and the temperature reading fell from 23 to 11. It works OK again after restarting but it seems that despite replacing the parts mentioned the problem is elsewhere. I'll need to put more miles on the car to see if there's any particular trigger for this problem.
  4. I have the same - fuel gauge went first, sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. About a week ago, the external air temperature sensor began to act up. Car's booked into my local indie next week for service and diag anyway so will wait to see what the outcome is.
  5. They came back to me. Turns out reset referred to the little pin-hole button next to the Map card slot, not the one in the menu. So I wrote a fresh SD card, checked the versions and pressed reset. The process started OK, updated some files and got to the third stage (MCU) at which point the screen went blank. Firmware updates being what they are I left it for about 15 minutes or so, but the unit stayed blank. Long story short, it looks like the firmware update has bricked the head unit. Called Icebox who suggested ignition off, then while holding power & reset in, ignition on and wait ten seconds. Release reset but keep holding power. Didn't have any effect on mine. Checked fuse etc. all good, so looks like the unit is completely stuffed. So now looking at re-instating the Stream MP3 :( Depending on what Icebox have to say about it I may ship the DS-820 back to them for repair. Or I might lob it in the recycling and cut my losses. Monday's, eh? [Edit: Unit removed, going back to Icebox under RMA]
  6. Thanks to KienKia I got in touch with Audiosources via Skype and received an update file. The instructions were to extract it to a blank SD Card, Check the version numbers and reset the radio to upgrade the firmware (BSP). Then separately update the APP and MCU via the touchscreen. Version numbers look like this: Couldn't get any further though. Factory reset just wiped all my settings but didn't update the BSP version. When I double checked the file list in the instructions it transpired the archive they sent me is missing a file shown in the instructions. I've gone back to Audiosources on that and await a response. If anyone wants the archive as it stands, it's here. Note: Use this entirely at your own risk!!. If you brick your head unit don't say you weren't warned. That's the file exactly as I got it from Audiosources. I haven't been able to apply it yet so I can't vouch for it in any way whatsoever. You're on your own here! If I get any further, I'll update the thread. If anyone's successfully updated one of these can you outline the steps you took?
  7. Same version numbers I have on mine. I had no luck getting a firmware update out of Icebox so if you do find one, post a link.
  8. The mic I got was a VAG OEM part, try a main dealer, may be cheap enough? Icebox shipped mine though.
  9. Like it says on the tin, RS owners open day, Pilsen Auto, on Sat 17th June from 11am. Phone: 01 4602111 Email: [email protected]
  10. Took me about half an hour. Having a helper to hold the aerial as you do up the nut is a good plan. Hardest part is getting the rear headliner trim off. Take your time and it's a DIY job. The nut is awkward to get at but you can pull the headliner down enough to get a ratchet in. There's a thread or two detailing it all on here.
  11. Aerial base has an amplifier that's prone to failure. Replacement is about 30 quid I think. Do a search on here, there's a few threads. Certainly cured the poor reception on mine. There's a service menu on the stream mp3 that can report the status of the amp if memory serves.
  12. Mine did it for a while, but it seems to have fixed itself automagically. Took it to my mechanic who said it could be a stuck flap but since it's righted itself I didn't bother to follow it up.
  13. We've a Mk2 hatch, but her Mk3 estate is the workhorse. Recently had 8 bags of firewood in the back and it's the weapon of choice for Ikea stuff or crossing France with a holidays worth of family luggage and bikes. The hatch leads a more sheltered life but perfectly capable of load lugging on the rare occasions it needs to.
  14. Don't believe it works with an iPhone. For what it's worth my experience with the mirror link on the DS820 is that it just doesn't work, end of. I sorta kinda had it half working with Android until my phone had a system update, now won't connect at all. Tried several Android handsets, different cables, Bluetooth on/off, rooted/not rooted, made no difference. Got onto Icebox last week about a firmware update, promised they'd be back to me in 24 hours. Not heard from them since. They appear keen to help when you talk to them, but then nothing. That's twice now, so not impressed. Pity as the mirror link would be handy to have, but I've basically given up it. at this point. If you do get it working, let us know.
