  1. Running 175/65R14 Goodyear Vector 4-season gen2. I bought them cheap from blackcircles and had them delivered just before the pandemic started, as my old tyres didn't have much life left I then had to work from home and consequently hardly did any mileage and the old tyres carried on for a lot longer. It must have been about 2 years ago that I got around to fitting them and have done maybe 10k since then. Just checked for you and fronts are on 7mm, rears 8mm. I think they'll outlast the car!
  2. Roll should be minimal and plenty of grip for enthusiastic driving. Just put some decent tyres on it. 185/55 R15 (82) Try Continental Premium Contact 5 185/55 R15 V (82)
  3. Your Mii looks a nice car. What better car could you get for 3k? I have a Mii and a Citigo. Your priority mods are a bootlace/bulldog clip arrangement for the rear parcel shelf, decent headlight bulbs and consider the second boot floor.
  4. I have a 2012 Citigo and a 2012 Mii - both still on original batteries with no problems. I've had the same thoughts as you but if it's not broke don't fix it.
  5. Thank you for this -I've just re-set my service indicator for the first time in years!
  6. My economy improved when I had my 60hp Mii tuned by Celtic Tuning. https://www.celtictuning.co.uk/component/ctvc/seat/mii-2012/petrol/1-0-12v-59-bhp-2012-ECU-remap-chiptuning/stage-1?year=2012#t3-content I didn't get the ultimate gains at high revs that they advertised and they did offer to put the old map back and have a refund. But they increased the torque around 3000 revs which makes the car a better drive.
  7. My 2012 Mii has just had its 4th service (at 25k) and the dealer wanted to replace spark plugs in addition to the usual items but after some discussion we're leaving it for another year. No mention of doing the cambelt. I've owned this now for 3 years with no issues except a puncture. I can probably say now that it's the most reliable car I've ever had.
  8. Does that actually work on a citigo?
  9. Try Parkers or Glass's for a more accurate valuation
  10. There are quite a few Seat Miis around at that price. It's the same car. If you can find a SE model it has nice alloys, seat height adjustment, electric windows, air con, remote locking and should come with the PID.
  11. Mine are still going strong 2 years after I fitted them
  12. It'll be the bulbs. Both of mine went after around 18-24 months. I was happy to leave it like that but the garage changed the bulbs at the 2-year service.
  13. 60k on this one. Wonder if those are the original Contis http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201507305642951
  14. I think my Mii's done 22k on the original Bridgestones. I'd like them to wear a bit more because I want to have a reason to swap them for Contis. But no, no irregular wear
  15. So, boot lights, parcel shelf strings and double window switches. Can anyone confirm that current Miis and Citigos have them?
  16. Brad, it was the fuel pump. The whole thing, with associated piping, has been replaced and it seems OK now.
  17. Just driven through most of Cornwall
  18. Thanks for the replies. At least you're saying it could be a variety of things so no need to panic yet. I have a friend who says he might be able to read the code so I'll get him around to have a go. It is booked into a garage that I know and trust next week.
  19. It's a 2008 1.8 tsi Octavia. Never had an issue with it previously. Only 46k miles. Driving home last night I noticed that I was down on power. It didn't seem too different around country lanes at 20-30 mph but had been a bit difficult to start, which is unusual. When I eventually got to a straight bit of road I tried to accelerate and nothing happened! Bach home I was playing around and noticed the rev limiter was cutting in at 3000 revs (exactly). Then a warning light came on (exhaust management) and has stayed on. It idles fine, and no smoke or excessive consumption of anything. I have lost my usual mechanic (retired) so unless I can find him at home will be trying someone new, and using the Mii in the meantime. Any ideas/questions on what's going on here?
  20. I find my Mii gives better mpg the warmer it is (as long as I can avoid using the air con) so now is a good time for an economy run. But 76mpg is impressive
  21. Weird. I had the same email from Luke (post#2) but with a cost of £250
  22. Resurrected this thread as I just got my car back from being serviced. On the way home I noticed it twitched going round a corner that it normally takes like it's on rails Checked the pressures and they were 26 front and 23 rear (well the fronts were 26 one side and 30 the other) I normally run them at 30 all round as the fuel filler gives the recommended (stock 175/65 x 14) as 29/26 unloaded and 32/36 loaded. As I sometimes run it loaded and sometimes not, 30/30 seems a good compromise. I've pumped them back to that and the handling is back to normal. What do you run yours at?
  23. Celtic Tuning are advertising this too. They say 'The 1.0 petrol engines we can take from 59bhp up to 80bhp and from 70lbft torque up to 77lbft torque giving a very impressive performance gain and all within safe design tolerance of the engine and drive train components. Our ‘fast road’ software is designed to provide linear power delivery without any harshness to the acceleration, the benefit being prolonged life of your clutch and a superior drive over standard. The cost of the remap is £250 all inclusive
  24. They don't seem to command a premium but I like them! Prefer white, then red.
  25. If you put a heavy box on the passenger seat, a sensor somewhere thinks you have a passenger not wearing a belt and the warning light dings at you in a variety of annoying tones!
