  1. Three hours to submit an appeal using HMRC online services. Back and forth on support lines as they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't submit either after numerous character counts and checks for illegal ones too. Finally figured it out that HMRC online services doesn't recognise an apostrophe. Whoever programmed that bit of software needs a slap on the head.
  2. I was going to mention the Ikea at Southhampton being the same format but Lee had beaten me to it. It might survive from all those people going on cruises stocking up on Dime bars before departure.
  3. Apparently @gadgetman knows the solution and it’s easy but he won’t tell anyone what it is!
  4. Ikea to close its Coventry branch due consistent losses. All staff hoping to be relocated. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51369413 Not going into administration or anything to do with Brexit before the doom and gloom brigade start posting.
  5. 80% of GDP isn’t 80% of employment. 80% of services includes U.K., EU and Worldwide. Where is the 80% of jobs that are related to U.K./EU services as quoted by Gadgetman? If you get satisfaction from running to moderators because I used a naughty word, then fill your boots and get a life a while you’re at it.
  6. Had you meant to reply to Lee as I never mention Brexit or the EU?
  7. I think there were two different calipers in use on the mk2 Octavia so best to find out what yours are from the markings on them before buying any. Before you go down the route of changing the calipers make sure it’s not the hand brake cable that isn’t binding. You’ll need to Jack the wheel up safely unhook ( hand brake off) the cable from the arm on the caliper. Rotate the wheel to see if it turns freely and apply the handbrake to that wheel by pushing the arm forward with the handle of an hammer then checking it releases again. You can get rebuild kits for the caliper too which isn’t as hard to do as you think. Of course if the handbrake is binding it is usually rust on the arm spindle but that normally goes along with a weeping seal too.
  8. I had a little search on this forum for other mentions of the offensive word and no shock it has been used plenty of times by the same person who tagged you in his comment. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/search/?&q=Turd&search_and_or=or Funny how some people want to play victim when it suits them. An interesting article of the problems faced by the EU, Brexit and future relations. https://www.politico.eu/article/europe-big-problems-in-2020-climate-change-finance-brexit-china-iran/
  9. Please provide evidence to back up your 80% of uk jobs are linked to U.K./EU services and finance. The ONS puts that sector at a third of manufacturing and then there are the many other sectors such as public which are as big as finance. Please check out the spreadsheet for employment by sector. https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/employmentandemployeetypes/datasets/employmentbyindustryemp13
  10. Lee, I'm only showing the same concern as you have over my previous employment. You brought up drinking watching the football but now you mention drink you might be interested in some news more local to you and I'm sure it's brewed to the Reinheitsgebot laws. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-51265269 I'm surprised after all the noise you made of moving to Germany for better life, job etc and your still unemployed and with the period of not earning it will take a long while to make up those missing years even with a higher wage. Just remember that whilst you post gloating over job losses and saying it's brexit related, your move to Germany to get away from it and be better is also open to the same treatment. We are very comfortable too and could easily live off my wife's earnings but I enjoy my work and contribute the same too. Enjoy your studies.
  11. I guess you're about to run to the mods now. I only say it how I see it Lee, sorry if the truth hurts Edited the post to say turd now so you don't have to be so touchy
  12. Really https://www.politico.eu/article/court-finds-human-rights-violation-under-uk-counter-terrorism-legislation/ https://www.statewatch.org/news/2019/apr/fr-echr-algeria-terror-deportation.htm So what is the easy solution you mention? BTW ECHR not ECJ, they're totally different
  13. Please don't say the EU isn't the land of milk and honey as the Remainers make out but is actually the sugar coated turd
  14. Maybe because every bit of bad news from remainers seems to have something to do with Brexit so just returning the bad karma back to you 😀
  15. Police expert has on BBC Breakfast this morning reckoned on 8 people per shift so quite a bit more expense. The higher risk suspects have even more officers involved as the surveillance then spreads to other people they contact. With all the suspects, even with unlimited officers they couldn’t surveil them all and police the general public. Meanwhile, I wait for Gadgetman for his answer to solve the problem.
  16. As for Norton I think they’ve been robbing Peter to pay Paul, not realising how expensive it is now to develop and get a bike into production. Some of the means of getting cash flowing has been at the least shady to illegal.
  17. No answer then. Just blame one party rather than look at the causes and what can be done without infringing on his and everyone else’s human rights.
  18. BMW has been good with warranty claims on wheels but last time I decided to get them powder coated. The wife then curbed them 😐
  19. It’s already been reported that the person was under observation, hence why the plain clothes armed police were so close and quick to react. Not sure what the police could have done any more. Parole and prison sentencing isn’t easy either as nice you start singling out one part of society then you open a whole can of worms and the liberals get involved and before you know it you’re in front of the European Human Rights Courts. @gadgetman I’d love to hear what the others parties would have done differently and remember it was the Tories that have prevented ISIS coming back and Labour wanted them to return
  20. Has any manufacturer managed to crack the diamond cut finish that lasts.
  21. Take your pick. I’m too tired to play games with you, I’ve had a long day working. You should try it. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/search/?&q=Google&author=Lee01&search_and_or=or
