  1. I have now had my Kenwood fitted this week. I was away for a week and left the car at the dealers to fit the Kenwood at their leisure, and I was to pick the car up this afternoon. Wednesday, Kate from Skoda rang me to see how the Kenwood was going, I said I was away, she confirmed it had been fitted Tuesday and would ring again Monday after having used the device over the weekend. Having used the Kenwood this afternoon/evening, I am impressed with it, it is clear, updates quickly, has many features, the only thing that has not worked is the junction view, but the manual does say it only works if available in that area. I must say thank you to Kate for resolving this issue, Skoda UK for funding half the Kenwood, the other half is funded by my dealer Startin Skoda Powick, Worcester - so thank you to Scott the Manager. Also on collection of my car it had also had a complementary valet. Following my concerns, and the offer of the Kenwood, I been dealt with in a professional manner and am satisfied with the outcome.
  2. That would be good if an update may become available. I must say that I thought Kate was very helpful too. I had been speaking to another person when she was on holiday, once she returned she called. The upshot was she was waiting for an update, we agreed that I would ring back in a month for further news and if Kate heard anything she would ring back. 10 days later she rang with the offer of the Kenwood.
  3. I have been offered a Kenwood also, it is on order and they said should be with the dealer in a couple of weeks. I too would like the fitting in the glove box, something I think to discuss with the dealer when it arrives.

  5. Not so good Kevrs16, I wonder if it will ever arrive!! I spoke to the dealer again, they wanted me to forward the post on the Kenwood, which I did as well as the link to this thread. They said they would contact Skoda and would have some news by Friday. Friday has just been and they did ring me as they said they would - Guess what I have been offered a Garmin too!!
  6. I think it now makes perfect sense Mick 50, post number 356. A hard lesson to learn, I am not holding my breath anything will be resolved!! We can live in hope. Has anyone else had an offer of the Kenwood as per Kevrs16's post?
  7. We have been back to the dealer today, the manager said he had to speak to his service manager and will ring us back tomorrow - time will tell if he does, but assured me he would ring whatever!! We had a June 2015 brochure that said that Smartlink was standard, little did we know the dealers were selling a car older than the brochure and therefore was not standard. It is only while looking at this forum we have found out about the pre and post week 22 manufacture dates, the dealers knew nothing of it when we spoke to them yesterday or indeed today. They are under the impression that the system may be upgradeable!! They need to know their products.
  8. Hi, I am new to this thread, and read your posts with interest. Yesterday I picked up my new Fabia SE from the dealer expecting Smartlink. The car was already at the dealers when I saw it last Monday, the brochure said that Smartlink was included as standard especially as it was the end of July when I was buying the car - how wrong I was. I went back to the dealer later in the day saying that I could not get it to work, the first response was that have you checked the phone compatibility as per the web page given in the brochure, obviously the IPhone5 is not compatible with Mirrorlink hence the need for Smartlink. The salesman admitted not knowing about the technical aspects, and another more 'tetchy' salesman tried to connect my phone with no luck. His response was when are you due an upgrade!! I mentioned about the pre/post Week 22 production and they had no idea what I was talking about. In fact I asked when it was produced, they did not know or even how to find out from the VIN. Again not terribly good customer service or after salesman service!! You don't expect to have to deal with this with what is a new car with the specifications stated in a brochure, on line, etc I read Kevrs16's post about the Kenwood, has anyone else managed to get that offered by their dealers? It is a possible option if Samrtlink is not available? How do people think this will affect the resale of the car by not having Smartlink?
