  3. Hi there My skoda fabia 2000 1.4 , power steering was feeling heavy. I tood to one garage, he gave me the error codes, 00532 01233 01309 00906 00566 saying there is some electric problem and advised me to take to an electrician. Next garage, told me that the power steering pump/motor is not working. part no. 6Q1423070 and told me it would cost, 710 + 132 , + VAT =£ 1010 I am confused, what to do. Please advice.
  4. Thanks Freedom, The garage told me the following error codes 00532 01233 01309 00906 00566 Any idea if the problem is because of any fuse error, alternator charge, or loose contact? I got my car back from garage. He suggested to show it to an electrician. Thanks
  5. Hi My skoda fabia 2000 power steering was not working after a short trip. As I was on holiday, the car was driven after two weeks rest. The power steering light was on, and I thought it may be bacuse of low battery charge(I was on holiday). So kept the car running for half an hour on my drive way and then drove around my place for half an hour also. The power steering light went off, but the steering is heavy. I went to garage and he said that it may be because of pump failure. But he cannot assure it. The fault code he gave to me are 00532 01233 01309 00906 00566 It has driven only 46000 miles in 15 years. except this steering problem it is a good car, and I like it very much. If I have to change the PAS or ABS, I don't know which one to change, it may cost me £1300. Can you guide me what can be the problem. Any fuse problem? any wire problem? any alternator problem? I got my car back from garage, he suggested me to show it to an electrician. Thanks
  6. Thanks very much freedom. Actually I left my car running for half an hour and drove around on local roads for half an hour extra. The ABS light was on, but I dont remember when it went off(while driving probably). Now the ABS light is not on. But the power steering is not working. It is really difficult to turn the wheel. I am in confusion as the garage told me that it may be because of ABS pump(he said only possibility, and suggested me to take to an electrician). Any idea what to do, any other checks to do Or can it cause because of temperature? Here the temperature was around 25 degree for two weeks. Thanks
  7. Hi there My Skoda Fabia 2000 1.4 was working well after I came back holiday. I drove it for 2 miles. When I started it again, it showed the ABS light on. The power steering was not working. I drove it to home with very difficulty. I thought the power steering failure may be because of low battery charge. I drove the car for half an hour just to recharge the battery. The ABS light went off, but the power steering is not working. I took the car to garage, and they said oil is ok, and fuses checked. (But I dont know how they can do all this in 10 minutes).I was not there in the garage. (He called me, but didnt mention the error code, may be I would ask when I visit the garage to take my car). they told me that the ABS pump may the problem, and better to take to an electrician who can change the ABS unit or check it properly. What shall I do? Can I change any fuse to try?which fuse you suggest? how to change it? From this forum, ABS system costs more than £1300. If I sell the car, I would get only £700. If I need to buy a new skoda, then it would cost only £1200. Now none of the error lights are on, after starting. But the power steering is not working. where to find an electrician to change it, if the ABS needs to be replaced? I live in Surrey, KT22. Please give suggestions. Thanks
