The majority of my current collection. The Corvette was my late stepfathers and needs a strap, it used to be on a very 1960's steel bracelet which unfortunately disintegrated. The Certina needs a bit of attention as does the Buler.

My Hydro Conquest Spends a a lot of time on my wrist, my other main watch is an original Apple sport watch which is pretty useful for activity tracking.

The Climatronic in my Rapid has been doing a great job blowing out really cold air over the last couple of days but the manual A/C in the Polo hasn't been doing such a great job. Which is pretty much what I've come to expect over the time I've owned them both.

Just brought a 2016 Rapid 1.4tsi dsg
Guyhey replied to knfruitbat's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
They're not slow, feels reasonably "Rapid" until I get back in the Polo have been very pleased with my 1.4 tsi in the 18 months I've had it -
Love the armrest in mine, but it's a dsg so doesn't get in the way at all. Takes one second to lift it when putting the handbrake on.

My 2014 Elegance has under bonnet insulation, it's pretty thin compared to the insulation under the bonnet of the Polo however

Rapid AC to Climatronic upgrade question
Guyhey replied to wolf89's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
My Rapid is ex Eurocar from memory ( am on holiday so don't have v5 to check ) the only thing it doesn't have is Amundsen, it has everything else. Have had it 18 months now and am still very happy with it. Will probably keep it another 18 months if all goes well. -
I'm 48 and still enjoy giving my Polo gti a bit of stick, the Rapid surprises a few Audi A3's on plenty of occasions too

I love the armrest on my dsg but imagine it would just be a pain on a manual

Carista - dial staging enabled!
Guyhey replied to pinkpanther's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
Have enabled dial staging on my rapid along with, 1 press unlocking, coming home lights, 4 flashes of the indicators & heated mirrors with heated rear screen on. Managed to get a genuine Carista obd2 on eBay and am very pleased -

MPG 86 PS versus 110 PS petrol engine
Guyhey replied to Robbydazzler's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
I drive a Rapid 122ps DSG as my daily car. I do a daily commute of 38 miles, mainly duel carriageway with a few miles of country lanes at each end of my journey. I use the cars acceleration freely and probably average about 75mph on the duel carriageway. As it's nice and warm at the moment climatronic is set to 18 deg. Trip computer has been showing 41mpg on setting 1 over the past few days and 42.3 on setting 2 over the last few weeks. I doubt if I could put up with the lack of performance from the 86ps and the inconvenience of having to change gear myself. -

My MY14 Rapid Elegance has 2 height adjustable seats too. -
That's the factory spoiler on mine. I haven't seen any other spoilers but there's not many Rapids about here.

My point exactly -
Slippery clutch & brake pedals
Guyhey replied to steve994's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
So the answer to your problem is................. Buy a Swift. No more slippery pedals ! Only downside is you'd have to look at it every day lol -
I've got the opposite problem, Rapid MIDI works fine and the Polo quite often takes ages !

Thinking About a Petrol DSG Rapid
Guyhey replied to nbramwel's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
The Elegance interior is a very relaxing place to be, we also have a Polo Gti in the family and the fact that the Rapid interior was very much in feel with the Polo swayed me towards the Rapid and away from the Toledo that I also looked at. So far I'm very pleased with the Rapid :-) I haven't had to put any oil in it yet, wish I could say the same for the Polo ! -
Thinking About a Petrol DSG Rapid
Guyhey replied to nbramwel's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
My 2014 DSG Elegance has got Climatronic, Cruise, Bluetooth, Parking sensors, MFSW. Hasn't got Sat nav or DAB. But it does have the very important for me front Arm rest. Being DSG the armrest doesn't get in the way at all, just move it up when using the handbrake. I think the SE comes with Cruise anyway. I seem to be averaging about 43 to the gallon and do a 40 mile round trip to work and back with a mixture of dual carriageway and country lanes. When I went away for the week doing a lot of motorway driving it did 47 to the gallon over that week. I don't have the lightest of right feet so those figures can undoubtedly be bettered. Just make sure the doors have had the mod done or otherwise they'll undoubtedly fill with water. Had mine done about 2 weeks after I bought it as after a heavy weekend of rain I could hear the water sloshing around in the near side door ! -
