  1. Also try spraying some carb cleaner near the manifold, if the revs rise you have a gasket gone.
  2. Turned out it was an inlet manifold air leak, changed the gasket and the car instantly ran smoother, no more uneven feeling in the car and no more chug chug out of the back end. Hopefully this has solved the emissions problem, taking it back for mot retest this week and will post the outcome soon.
  3. No this has not been checked, will check it now though. Thanks
  4. Hi everyone. I have a 1998 Felicia lxi 13mpi, only done 23000 and for a while it has been running rough at idle, like it is only running on 3 cylinders, and there is a slight hesitation when you first hit the gas. there was also a problem with the coolant sensor(which i replaced). It is now MOT time and had to replace the back section of exhaust, (the other looked ok on the outside but was full of rust rattling around inside). Failed MOT on "exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive " and car is still running rough at idle. Can anyone please help.
  5. Hi Pinkspud No I have not fixed this yet as my missus has just bought an S reg Felicia and I have been busy keeping my MZ motorcycle on the road (why does everything go wrong when it rains). I am sorry I cannot help you at the moment, still determined to rectify it though so watch this space..I and so will I. Have you encountered any other problems with your felicia???? Did you have any work done on your car just before the problem arose or has it been a gradual problem.
  6. Hi Thanks for your replies. I think you are right about the vibration damper,I think it is supposed to turn too. Out with the driveshafts in the morning.
  7. The tracking was done not so long ago. On further inspection of the driveshaft I found that the balance weight on the o/s driveshaft would turn with no effort at all, I presume this should be fixed tightly around the driveshaft. Could this be the problem??????
  8. Thank you for your help. I will investigate this first thing.
  9. Hi thanks for replying Yes it does dissapear when the clutch is engaged.
  10. Hello, I am hoping that someone else has experienced this problem. I am a proud owner of a 1993 favorit GLXi estate(1300) but recently I have been experiencing a nasty bout of vibration, well sideways shaking would be a better way to describe it. It happens on acceleration all the way up to 50mph and after that it really doesn't seem safe. The running gear and steering has been checked and found to be fine, also wheels were swapped front to back which made no difference. However I did change the clutch on the vehicle 6 weeks ago and would like some advice about if this could be a part of the cause. Any help would be mucho appreciated.
