  1. thanks guys! phoning the skoda guys they advised me to check the solenoid, and discovered that a thin wire was actually disconnected from the solenoid of the starter motor... was happy to see that it is not a big thing to repair... thing is that i cannot reconnect the wire back to its 'clip' which is attached on the solenoid. It has a strange and complicated red plastic slider which i spent 3 hrs trying to get it out to be able to solder the wire back again to this clip. but i didnt manage. i have an image of it but cant attach it to this tread. perhaps i can send it to anyone interested via email - my email is [email protected] THANKS A MILLION for your support its a nice community!
  2. hello everyone ....warm welcome, THANKS yes, i will post my future Fabia-related questions as indicated. I have discovered that a thin wire was disconnected from the solenoid (of the starter motor). I do not know how this has happened! Thing is that I do not know how to remove the clip attached to the solenoid to reattach the wire... the clip has a strange and complicated red plastic slider... and regarding the breakdown assistance, till now, i was not offered assistance until i would figure out a way of taking my car to the skoda workshop myself. thanks guys.
  3. hello everyone. I'm a paintings conservator and I own a Fabia 1.2 petrol hatchback, purchased new in 2006. I'd say that this car is great and of good quality. Never given me trouble till last weekend. I cannot start the car anymore! When I turn the ignition key, I hear the fuel pump buzzing as usual, but nothing else works! The starting motor (or self-starter) does not work and thus my car remained stuck in my garage... which is located at the first floor (and unnaccessible by towing trucks). So I cannot take it to a Skoda workshop for checkup and repair. Will be extremely grateful for all those of you who would reply and provide advice. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi all. I need help! I own a Skoda Fabia, petrol 1.2 engine, newly purchased in 2006. This car never gave me problems and am happy with it. I parked it in my garage and for some reason, the engine now fails to start. When I turn the ignition key, I can only hear the fuel pump working and the starting motor (or self-starter) fails to work. Basically, I cannot use the car and not even to take it to the Skoda workshop for checkup and repair! Plus, my garage is located at the first floor and cannot be accessed by towing trucks. I am also reluctant to move the car and try to start it (while geared) down by the garage ramp since the common garage access is very narrow. I have checked the battery and fuses - they all work fine. I have also checked the engine and there are no loose wires. Can someone kindly help me? Thanks in advance!
