  1. I had this with Direct Line. Mine's a 220 vRS, but my reg number brought up the 230 on their site. First time round I ignored it and went through the process to get a price. Then I thought I'd better correct it, so did the whole thing again with all info identical except for manually choosing vRS 220 for the vehicle. This gave me a quote 60 quid higher! I went elsewhere.
  2. Ditto - could make neither head nor tail of the clip fitting instructions. Just slid it in and all seems well.
  3. The rear flaps are fine - you just have to attach a clip to the wheel arch lining which comes with the flaps. To properly fit the fronts you need to drill a 7mm hole through some plastic. I managed to get my power drill in there with the steering on full lock and some juggling around. It's not a screw that goes in there but a push-in plug thing. This is all as-per the instructions on the packaging.
  4. Yep, fitted the SuperSkoda ones to my vRS hatch front and rear a couple of weeks ago. A piece of cake to fit, and no issues. No need to remove the wheels. They are very effective too.
  5. I undid the seat runners and leaned the seats back. This was the easiest part of the job: two mins work. You need an M10 spline bit. Even having done this, It was still pretty fiddly and awkward. You need to insert some clips for the screws to go into (SuperSkoda supplied these). Seeing where these go would be quite hard with the seats in place, although a mirror might work. And you'd need smaller hands than mine to get them in. Anyway, I doubt I could have done the job myself without undoing the seats.
  6. I've had my vRS TSI hatch for seven weeks, and am loving it. TBH I'm still learning how to make the most of it - it's the first "performance" car I've had - but it's a lot of fun. Overtaking is a doddle: just drop a couple of gears (manual), listen out for the turbo/warp drive spinning up, and you're past in a flash. But watch the speed limit! Nicest surprise of all is that my snooty colleagues who all drive Merc E class/BMW 7s/Porches have all been highly complimentary: "if only it weren't for the badge, Bennee...". I can live with that! As for fuel. The best I've managed on my 13 mile commute, driving like a nun, is 39.9mpg. But it really hates traffic queues and rapidly drops to mid-20s. Long term (first thousand miles), getting a reported 33 or so. This is improving a bit recently.
  7. Yep, I endorse this message. I had exactly the same experience last week ordering from SS. Same spend as well: I only went there for mudflaps and ended up at over 300 Eur. Dangerous place!!
  8. 7th of August. So, exactly 12 weeks ago. This was the quoted delivery time, so all good.
  9. Thank you. Delivered with only 5 miles on the clock. I've only managed to put another 5 on it this morning... bit busy with work. Nearly the weekend... I got it through buyanewcaronline.co.uk - Simpson's Preston, who delivered it very nicely (4 hour drive each way), seemed unaware of this, and one of the Ts&Cs was that I wasn't allowed to discuss it with them [Hope they're not reading this! ] Anyway, a huge saving off list price - much better than CarWow or any of the brokers I tried - and no complaints so far. It came with half a tank of fuel, 1l spare oil and a Skoda keyring with shopping trolley token!
  10. Twelve weeks to the day from order to delivery - exactly what I was quoted. It arrived this morning with just 5 miles on the clock.
  11. My new vRS arrived at 8am this morning - can't wait to go for a spin! Unfortunately I need to do some work first. And I might wait until the rain stops...
  12. My new vRS TSI being delivered.
