  1. Your full of **** thats what you are I fix these for a living do you seriusly believe the skoda power plants are totally nuetral to the rest of the VAG range??? @7600ee Im sorry mate im done with these "experts" on this forum.. Message me if you want some real time advice from a professional ..
  2. When connecting jump leads to asist starting the engine the doner power needs to run through the starter only, otherwise youll just be trickle charging the battery.. Direct from the holey grail that is halfords.. Dont forget your goggles Yours is a three cylinder right??
  3. The pd is a very refined power plant and unless you are fully clued up on them leeve well alone ,its no good using old style deisel engine diagnosis on these machines... My money is on injector seals,,, Read this
  4. DUDE.. Do your homework.. The first pds were not even fitted with a lift pump . The lift pump is only there to improve power and responce.
  5. get some clear fuel pipe and see how much air is in your fuel lines. just the short sections from the fuel filter to the metal pipes on the front. The cheep cables are ok of ebay but you really do need to monitor fuel flow with full vcds ask around on any of the vag forums for someone closer with a full setup that knows what they are doing... instead of changing batterys your best off fitting the og battery fully charged and use jump leeds off another vehicle running only place the negative clamp on a solid part of the poorlys cars engine..
  6. @7600ee All the dash lights you are describing are typical of continuous cranking and flat battery dont let them loose your focus on the fault.. A pd does not need a lift pump to oporate the early pds wernt even fitted with a lift pump they only came along to increase power.. Were in the country are you I have full vcds and dont mind plugging it in...
  7. Also if you can get hold of any clear fuel pipe check for bubbles in he fuel line after the filter..
  8. take off the cam box and give the injector bolts a nipup,if this temporally helps the problem you could be looking at injector seals and bolts
  9. No need to hurl abuse Ryan thats not very chritian is it? The reason you started this thread is because your having a hissy fit over them nasty people using your drive and because you failed to consider the consiquences of a cheep and nasty gravel drive..... You wasted your money on the wrong drive and when somebody confronts you with the reality of the situation you do what every other baby does and starts name calling.. May I subjest two exstreemly sturdy steel posts and a length of Black cable 8mm minimum with woven eyelets each end.. The nasty people wont see the illusive cable and with a little luck will damage thier vehicles when attempting to tresspass on your propertaaaay... Or you could just grow the hell up ??? Edit; Oh and you assume my opinion then pass judgement on me being a tit...?? I have not as yet provided you with my personal opinion on using private driveways to turn around.. So why make that assumption??? I fully respect other peoples property and only at an extreme last minute carry out such a maneuver..
  10. Its a drive that is getting thrown all over.... Which is your ultimatle complaining about...... Top and bottom is you dont want folks reversing onto your drive either stop crying or buy a set of gates...
  11. That would not work Gizmo as the steering angle sencor would be out and youd have airbag steering faults on dash..
  12. You need to get it on vcds and measure fuel flow. Sounds very much like injector seals but at around 180quid for seals and bolts its an expencise what if..
  13. I have a 2008 BXE with over 280k on the clock which has been mapped to 150 bhp in 2010.. It runs well even better that my wifes 04 bora with a quarter of the miles..
  14. Stop being a cheep skate and install a proper drive
  15. Morning all, I am a set or to make up a set of steels for my Mk2 Octavia estate ive herd the latest octavias come with a full size seventeen inch steel rim . Is this true if so has anyone got any for sale if not ill be happy with 16s??
  16. the issue you describe are more related to bushes that componants, a dry door hinge creeks at slow speed and not at all when moved fast..
  17. The death toll will be hundreds three of the flats were sqauts so could of been dozens in them. The brutal fact is we will never know because the heat and length of time it burned there ashes wil be washed /blown away................
  18. Mk1 octavia is basically a Mk4 golf/bora audi tt so all suspension/brake components interchange able.. As for brand I dont believe you can tell the diference under normal driving conditions..
  19. Iff you have fifty quid burning a hole in your pocket.. The op was about how dificult the job is not how much will it cost....
  20. Are you mad ?? The only agenda any politition has is thier own.................
  21. Just watched tonights "news" .. Total unbiased news indead...............
  22. Yeah watch out next year with the auto renewals at least Richard terpin wears a mask.. How is auto renewal even legal??? @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX???
  23. What part of this giberish is helping anyone?? Mileage is nothing to do with it,uneven roads and bumping up and down kerbs is.......... The question was can he adjust wheel position by disconecting the columb from the rack??? The answer is no the rack is attached via a spline which has one flat or an odd spline ,it only goes on one way... A full wheel alignment can take upto an hour and when paying stealer rates can easily reach 100 pound... My advice is to find yourself a non chain garage pref family owned for this type of job.. trackingg the wheel straight is a pain in the arse.. track test drive track test drive.... Good luck @blue_boy you should get it done for half that at most.....
