  1. The dealer rang today. My windscreen has arrived. It’s getting fitted next Tuesday. The issue was marks on the screen which appear to be on the inside and can’t be polished out. And trust me I’ve tried has had the dealer. Glad it’s getting done but I’m not happy how long it’s taken to resolve the issue. Since it’s been there since I picked up my car in April.
  2. Yes I tried another dealer but they told me that I had to get the original dealer who sold my car to sort it as it’s a warranty issue. I won’t use them again that’s for sure.
  3. Well I’ve said it. I rang the dealers again today about my windscreen that’s due to be sorted under warranty. 3 months I’ve waited and nothing. It can’t be that hard to send one to the uk. I’m now considering handing the car back and asking for my money back. You don’t expect such poor service when you’ve spent almost £30.000 on a car. Skoda has clearly gone down in the customer service department. And my dealer is about as much use as well I won’t say. How can they distribute and sell vehicles with no spare parts! I know it’s a new model but come on, a windscreen is quite an integral part you kind of need. Anyone else think Skoda have now lost the plot. My last Skoda I had great service and that’s why I chose them again. My mistake I guess.
  4. Well I wish I’d had confirmation my windscreen was coming so fast. I’ve been given two possible dates and they both just came and went. So I hope you get yours and 8 get m8 e soon too. It’s spoiling the owning experience
  5. This doesn’t surprise me. I’ve been waiting months for my replacement windscreen. You can’t believe that Skoda didn’t ensure that there are a number of spares for this kind of issue. If I get mine first I will let you know. But don’t get your hopes up. Why they can’t ship a few windscreens across here is just a poor customer service. I do get a weekly phone call telling me it’s not arrived yet.
  6. I’m not worried. Just curious. Since now the car I own is been replaced with a lesser spec I was thinking perhaps it will hold on to it’s vskue a little better. But since I won’t be buying another car for the foreseeable just asking what people’s thoughts are. I know a friend on mine that had a scout and that held its vslue better than my Mondeo. And mine was a better spec.
  7. So I’ve been watching and reading some of the horror stories as you guys wait for your cars or just cancel the order. I’m still waiting for my replacement windscreen 2 months in. But I’m interested in the edition not being continued. So as that what I have, and they are clearly going to be a bit like hens teeth. So for those of us who managed to grab an exclusive with the 1.5 petrol engine. Do you think our cars will hold their value a bit better due to them now being rare?
  8. Hi. Recent trip to NEC on Sunday about 230 miles round trip. Avarged 45mpg doing steady 70mph, 1.5 petrol edition with DSG. 1200 miles on t(e clock. My 2ltr octiva in the fuel of the devil again DSG used to average 60mpg at same speeds So I don’t expect the Karoq to match it, but hope it gets a little better.
  9. Ive raised a few issues with Skoda UK , my new car was delivered with scratches and my windscreen issue is still on going. They have been of no help what so ever. They take no responsibility for any issues and fob you off. Im still waiting for my windscreen replacement. Do I love the car yes, do I love the after sales and customer care.. no way, worst I've ever had to deal with. Will be the last Skoda for me, and I tell others who are thinking of getting one. I recommend other brands so far I've cost them a great many new cars they could have supplied, and will continue to do so.
  10. I think on the edition you miss out as this is where you electric panoramic sunroof buttons are. I keep mine in the cubbyhole on the dashboard where the extra speaker goes if you upgrade to canton sound system.
  11. I think I spotted my first one in Huddersfield West Yorks last week, same colour as mine Quarts Grey. They do appear to be a rare car...
  12. I found this weekend that using the snow foam removes more of the bugs than I thought possible. First time user of snow foam. Once you put it on, leave it a good 5 to 10 minutes then wash it off, then wash the car 2 bucket method dry it off. then stand back and admire your work. Only downside for me, Im vertically challenged and need step ladders to do the roof.
  13. Well it’s on my edition and I didn’t add anything other than heated window and spare wheel. So yes it should be there along wit( lane assist. You just don’t get the radar auto cruise control thing. But 8 had that on my Octavia and never used it. Hence why I didn’t pay extra to get it this time.
  14. Well I was cleaning he car this morning and checked my spare wheel was in there. And guess what yep but none of that other stuff you usually get ie compressor and sealant. Since I had to pay £150 for the spare wheel should I also have had the seat and stuff as thats what it comes with as standard.
  15. Hi guys. Just an update. Been back to the dealers who tried to polish out and failed. As I indicated it would. I was looks that someone was there who deals with warranty claims, who agreed that it requires replacing. So new window on order, who knows when it will arrive, but I’m happy with that. Only issue is once it arrives they are going to want my car for two days. Apparently if you have lane assist it has to be recalculated to the new windscreen. Now that’s something I didn’t know.
  16. heres what it looks like. This is what happens each and every time I spray any kind of cleaner on the inside of the window to clean it.
  17. I had the outside of my car done with a ceramic treatment. chap normally does Ferrari so I know its been done right. he told me that as long as I wash it as he instructed it will last going towards 10 years. I have to say when he'd done It, it was loads better looking than the day I picked it up.
  18. Thanks, I visited DMK today to show them, I demonstrated using Auto Glym glass cleaner that it wouldn't remove the marks. They said that the prep shop would have alook at it on Tuesday, if they can't fix it I have asked that the windscreen be replaced under warranty.
  19. Well I thought I’d noticed these a day or two after I picked up my car, but dismissed it as perhaps a bit of crud on the windscreen. I’ve been out again cleaning the windscreen and as soon as I spray my windscreen with cleaner they appear as if by magic. Anyone any ideas, how the hell 8 get rid of them permanently. Just one more thing with the catalog of issues since I got my car.
  20. I had a service/ maintenance plan on my Octavia. About £20 a month. But I didn’t this time. I only ever had to replace one wiper blade in 21/2 years. One minor and one major service. So that’s £600 all together I spent. I don’t think it’s worth it in my opinion. The services and wiper blades if bought separate were no where near that cost. I guess it depends on mileage and how you drive.
  21. Mike you’ve clearly had a better experience than myself. The same dealer got mostly ones from me, the highest been a three. Great car poor customer service.
  22. I got an email asking how my dealer had performed. I have sent a suitable response to all the questions. Will follow up with a letter of complaint later to skoda uk.
  23. Wish I had added the heated steering wheel option, along with the mud flaps. Anyone looking at running boards by chance. From the side view, the bottom just looks odd. I have been pricing some up. Just haven't taken the plunge yet.
  24. When I picked up mine today I was told that there maybe issues with petrol engine supplies as lots more people have opted for petrol over Diesel engines. I’m included in that. I’ve had diesel cars for years and I’ve swapped this time and I guess lots of others mayhave too.
