I am changing my dashcam for one which takes its power from the USB socket which I believe is ignition controlled. Please advise if this is wrong.

I thought Stanley Unwin was dead !

Corrosion and discolouration evident already. Disappointing to say the least.

Synchronising done - now working as normal.

Battery replaced but still not working. Will have to try the synchronising procedure.

Mine has the CR2025 which is a bit thinner I think.

I've had my car since late November and today the fob stopped working - had to use the spare to lock the car. Not very good battery life seeing as I had an Insignia for three years and never had to replace the battery.

Did you have any trouble getting the suction mount to attach to the shaded area of the windscreen ?

Mine is called Grace as the first two registration letters are WG. Cricket fans will understand.

Only if the car self-brakes. If you manually apply the brakes then the ACC is cancelled and the lever must be pulled back to resume its previous setting.

You must be one of the very few to actually put a car in your garage. Seems strange because I thought they were for washing machines, bikes, pushchairs, home brewing equipment and all sorts of crap that should be taken to the dump. I guess it takes all sorts - live and let live.

Haven't yet tried the sport setting but yesterday i put it in 'Economy' mode and when I started the car today it was still in E mode. I don't like the E mode as pick up is too slow and the freewheel makes it feel like you have no control.

I have used occam's razor and shaved things down to number 3.

Petrol was getting low but hadn't reached the red zone hence no reserve warning so I estimate at least 7 litres left. Filled up at Sainsburys (nectar points) to the point where the pump switched off. Didn't squeeze any more in. The reading was 65.2 litres. Therefore total in the tank was over 72 litres. Quite pleasing as I think the bigger the better. Handbook states about 66 litres including reserve. Can anyone else comment ?

Just over 1200 miles on mine now so felt it was time to try the sport setting. Wow, it was so eager to go. Always plenty of power available at any speed giving a thrilling surge of acceleration but you can incur wheelspin ,if not careful, and not just in bottom gear. I will not be using 'sport' in normal driving as 'drive' still gives sparkling performance and feels more relaxed. This is a fabulous engine/gearbox combination and gives me all the performance I need. I can certainly understand why the 280TSI would need 4 wheel drive. Re fuel consumption - the last tank has given me 32mpg (my calculation not the computer's) .This include a very fast return trip to Plymouth into a storm force wind, a more leisurely cross-country trip to Lyme and Bridport and a lot of town and local stop-start journeys. I would think that a long distance motorway haul at 75mph(indicated) should give me better than 40mpg. I'll find that out in June when I go to Newcastle.

I like the fold-out bag holders in the boot. Simple but effective.

It would be better if the mirror heaters came on with the rear window heater as they did on my Insignia. They would also turn off automatically after a preset time - it's so easy on the Superb to forget that the mirror heaters are on. However, I do find that they clear quickly. Front screen also clears very quickly as the petrol engine warms up much faster than a diesel.

Good reception here in the Westcountry but I prefer to use FM. Sound quality is better due to much greater bandwidth whereas DAB only provides MP3 quality with its compressed bandwidth.. The difference is noticeable even on the standard sound system.

I never drive faster than conditions allow but overtaking HGV's in heavy rain can overwhelm the wipers. The law should change to make it compulsory for HGV's to have anti-spray wheel arches. Are there any HGV drivers in the forum who would care to comment ?
