  1. Hi. Had a great 22 months with our S3 and are due to be handing it back in December. It's an SE Business 2.0 DSG estate in petrol blue with added heated windscreen, heated front seats, rear camera, and full size spare. Currently at 27k mileage, likely to be under 30k by December. Will be getting it's second service on Friday, last one was usual stuff plus new front tyres (it's on a full maintenance lease). We've just had an indication of purchase price, and was wondering if anyone here would be interested in purchasing for circa £16.5k? Quite happy to hand it back and walk away but just thought we'd see if anyone is looking for one second hand. Car is in Scotland.
  2. Get thee to a professional. We got this local company (1 man band) to ceramic coat our Superb a month after delivery. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=942460972513931&id=223858244374211
  3. Had our S3 SE Business a little over 2 months now. Fantastic car. Just one thing. We commute 30 miles each way daily in heavy commuter traffic. Sometimes in stop start traffic, and it seems especially if the car behind gets very close, the sensors will decide you're trying to park!?!??? And bleep and show the relevant info on the screen! Not a problem as it's easily switched off, just a nuisance distraction and loud. Anyone else experienced this?
  4. That's bad. I only saw it in passing (twice as we also passed the transporter on our first trip out) so couldn't say if it was there then. We need to call the dealer as we've no info on the servicing that we're paying for in the lease. Slightly worried from your comment and the fact when our local dealer checked the system it was not down as having servicing included. Also, the log book only has the car info sticker, no pdi sign off. Is yours the same?
  5. JesVRS does your reg end mx? Just been trying to work out who was getting this one since we got our Freedom car on the 17th and saw the other Skoda on the transporter (our reg ends mw so I'm assuming they were registered together).
  6. Neither was us. But if you see a petrol blue s3 estate around, especially south gyle to city centre areas about 6'ish and 2.30/3 ish just now it's us ☺
  7. Thankfully not damaged but on unloading from the transporter what did I see but a 2" by 1/2" bird strike on rear passenger side door. Just below window. Dried solid. My new paintwork!!!! Took 10 minutes of very careful soaking then removing. Have also agreed with hubby the new car will be good for our health as we will park in as quiet a spot as possible at supermarket and the like lol
  8. Yes! Ours arrived Thursday. SE Business estate diesel in petrol blue DSG heated screen heated front seats and spare wheel. Helios wheels. ACC is taking a bit of getting used to, car slowing itself then speeding up again when road ahead clearer such as at lights. Also stop start only works if no other current draw such as heated screen or ac. Headroom feels very low, surprisingly since I'm only 5'2". But then our old commute car was a 'bus' aka a Renault Grand Scenic and the other car's a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Oh so comfortable and smooth. And stylish. Plus seem to be getting more respect from other drivers, not so much tailgating and more likely to let us move right when we indicate. Also keen to know who was getting the other new Skoda (end mx) on the transporter from the same dealer (next reg to ours (*mw) so probably registered together).
  9. Ordered 6th of August via a lease company 2.0 SE Business DSG estate with heated screen and front seats, rear camera, and spare wheel. At start of September told unconfirmed build week 42 and would have confirmed build week by end of month. End September still unconfirmed and pushed back to week 46. Yesterday got confirmed build week 46. So hopefully will get delivery first or second week in December.
  10. However, if your car insurance covers you for a brand new replacement vehicle if written off in the first year post registration (as most good insurers do), then the benefit mentioned above re lower deposit is much reduced. Always work out total cost as well, I ended up saving about £500 over the lease's two years by going for a 6m deposit instead of 3m.
  11. We asked Freedom for the order number. they had to request it from the dealer, and it took a few days as we called them on Friday pm before the bank holiday. They emailed the number to us, and I then called Skoda UK using the customer service number on the website. I think the guy I spoke to was a trainee, long hold times for any questions, and then a call back. But very helpful and polite.
  12. Ordered 6/8/15 through Freedom Contracts on a personal lease: Petrol Blue 2.0 tdi 150 SE Business DSG estate Heated windscreen Heated front seats Rear camera Space saver spare wheel From Skoda UK today, we are unconfirmed for build week 43. This will apparently be fixed & therefore confirmed by the end of this month. Delivery to be 2-4 weeks after this. Hmmm, must make sure lease co know about November holiday in Egypt!
  13. Usually you can. The company we went through had three levels of deposit, equivalent to 3 months, 6 months and 9 months payments. The higher the deposit, the lower the monthly payments. In total, the three deals were only a couple of hundred pounds different.
  14. When we looked at the 2.0 tdi 150 DSG estate o Saturday there was only one fill point behind the fuel flap. So no Adblue on 150 DSG, unless the fill point would be elsewhere?
  15. West End Dunfermline (Halbeath). SE L Exec estate, 150 Moon White black alcantara upholstery remote rear seat release in the boot variable boot floor. 19" wheels Found it! It's a Moon White SE L Exec 150 estate, 19" wheels, with black alcantara upholstery and it's at West End Dunfermline (Halbeath). It has electric tailgate, remote rear seat release in the boot, and variable boot floor. Very nice. One thing was that there was no handle or similar in the boot for closing it. Not sure if that was due to the electric tailgate option. Has anyone seen one without the powered boot that could confirm if it had an internal handle, strap, hand hold or similar? I'm only 5'2" and it was a stretch to get my hand to the outside - would be quite tricky if wet.
  16. Ah, not been to Broxburn dealership for a while. Thanks for the info. Right, Dunfermline or Sighthill? Stirling unlikely if car seen being driven in Edinburgh; bit far for a test drive.
  17. Maybe ask Freedom Contracts. We got ours from there and went for 15,000 miles per annum. We're likely to do about 17-18k each year but as the excess is fairly low, won't be too bad. If you don't include maintenance we were quoted 7.2p per excess mile, or 12.2p if we got maintenance included in the lease cost (an extra £24 a month for servicing and tyres). On the website they're quoting 3+23 as £800 up front and £267 per month. If the excess mileage is as low as 7.2p a mile, then 10,000 excess miles is only an extra £720 at the lease end (sounds a lot but works out at £30 per month over the length of the lease).
  18. I take it you went to the Sighthill dealership? There's two other West End Skoda dealers, one at Broxburn and the other at Dunfermline. May just give them a call in the morning.
  19. Might see you there although may use wait until an Estate crosses the border.
  20. Thanks Pete T. Different lease Co and don't yet know the supplying dealer. Was planning on phoning tomorrow for an update on order no / estimated delivery, so will see if they mention this when we call.
  21. Pete T, which lease company are you using and who is the supplying dealer please? I ask as we've also ordered on a 2 year private lease only the heated windscreen option. Final paperwork was signed 07/08 but not heard of any issues with this configuration. Thanks.
  22. Why lease? My husband and I work in the same city, a daily round trip of almost 60 miles. Two annual train season tickets would cost almost £4k a year, so it's more economical for us to commute together by car. Therefore we need a reliable car that has good fuel economy. The car also needs to deal with family life like shopping, hobbies including scuba diving, a removal service for a child at uni, and be easy to get into and out of for my elderly mum. Therefore not a small car. Due to other financial commitments we have had to buy older cars for the last 8 years, with the resultant higher maintenance costs, higher road tax and poorer fuel economy. These commitments have lessened and we were looking to buy a nearly new or up to 3 year old car in a year or so. The loan would have been at least £350 a month over 3 years even with a 1/3 deposit (£5k+), plus maintenance costs and road tax. As you'll see from my earlier post, with the lease deal we are getting a brand new car with the latest fuel economy & safety technology and our chosen extras, while paying a much lower deposit and monthly cost, over a shorter period, with maintenance plus road tax included. The total cost over the two years is less than the amount the car will depreciate in that time. It's also like getting a fixed rate mortgage as we know what our car costs will be for those 2 years thus allowing us a better opportunity to get our other finances on a better footing. Edit - Plus no haggling with dealers on part exchange value or the hassle of dealing with tyre kickers/rip off merchants if selling privately. So the question to me now is not why lease, but why buy?!!!
