  1. Thanks for that, I'll take a look in the morning. I don't have any error codes; not sure if it's electrically connected? In which case it wouldn't throw a code would it?
  2. Hi all, The 2008 Octy (bluey) just failed an MOT for headlamp adjustment too low (no adjustment possible) The car now has a flat battery making thing just little bit more difficult. I rang Soda and the technician said that there is a manual adjustment to the side, rather than the back on halogen versions. My initial thoughts were that the electric adjustment had failed and these are £800 for pair! It seems odd that they would both fail at the same time. My questions is, if the lights do their self test when they are initially turned on (sweep up and down( then the electrics side is surely OK?
  3. Thanks, mine will only do it once but it isn't in the morning, it could be at any point during driving and then it'll be fine again. It hasn't done it for the past two days I'm going to try and bleed it as the fluid is clearly old although it's probably a good idea to start saving up for a new kit. I'm wondering whether to do the flywheel, clutch and the slave in a oner at 96k
  4. Amazing, If it was the slave wouldn't it be an issue more often or all the time? I took a look in the reservoir and it's pretty dark. I assume the slave is inside, rather than external one my 2007 estate has?
  5. Appreciate it thanks. I had thought it might have been but it's a lot of money if it doesn't fit. 45mm is also E20 which seems to be the European standard. I'll go ahead and buy it so I can get the clutch bled. Pedal every now and then doesn't want to come up but otherwise works perfectly
  6. Does anyone happen to know the size of the brake reservoir cap for an Octavia 2015? A lot of places sell an E20 cap with pressure bleeders and they reckon they do most of the European cars but I can't find what size the Octavia's is. I've done a search on here but nothing is coming up Cheers.
  7. I know there's been a lot of views for this topic, but no replies - for anyone wondering, both pumps are the same. The gates version that has the "-1" at the end includes the plunger and the electrical connector.
  8. Hi all, I've jus bought a 2015 Octavia 2.0 with CKFC engine -It's got 96k miles and no evidence of the timing belt being done, so I'm planning to change this in the next few days. How do I differentiate between the two different water pumps? One seems to be switchable but the other not and both seem available for my car. Can anyone assist with the right one please?

  10. Ah ok, though I'd approach that with caution unless you've had one before or someone else can assist with experience that what they're saying is actually accurate.
  11. I'd stick with a mainstream brand if I were you, unless you're a bit more than a dab hand at these things. They usually come on different appeture sizes and can be quite difficult to source fascias for. I have a Sony XAV-3500 which has DAB, BT and Andoid Auto and it is amazing. Cheaper versions available but it really is plug and play.
  12. Thanks it was 24mm. Really easy job all told 👌
  13. I was gutted to find that, which was no fault of my own. But it doesn't really justify spending on getting it sorted. Car travels about 4 miles a day when it's not great running weather so really is a runabout car. I love it though! Wouldn't mind changing it to a citigo when funds become available so I have a full Skoda fleet again.
  14. Reviving an old but interesting thread!! I bought this little Huyndai Amica in Sept last year and haven't washed it since. But since getting the new Octy last week I though I'd get into a routine of giving the cars a good wash and polish. This is how the guinea pig turned out, now on to the Octy.!
  15. Hi all. When I got rid of my 2007 Octy last year and bought a Hyundai, I gave away my obdeleven white dongle to my father in law as I no longer needed it. 12 months later I have seen the light and come back to Skoda ( I have always owned a skoda and regret leaving) now I'm looking to buy another obdeleven to keep for emergencies, keeping VCDS for day to day use. Ive noticed that they are selling this next gen product, does anyone have any feedback on it and is it worth the extra over the standard one I originally had? What can it do that the original couldn't?
  16. Ah brill. I didn't want to strip it all down to find I couldn't fit an adjustable in there, although I'm sure I have a 24 in amongst the tools somewhere! Thanks
  17. @Gizmo If this is still going and used, can you add me please Newport/Cwmbran - GizmoThor8303 - HEX+CAN
  18. Hi all, Could someone tell me the socket size for the DSG oil filter on the 6 speed box please
  19. I imagine that's before the riveted panel is it? saves me having to take that thing out! Cheers for the tip I'll report back when I get chance to get out to it, the DSG oil change is the priority at the moment!!
  20. Hi all, Bit of a weird one, the rear electric window in my 08 Octy isnt working quite right. When the button is pressed, you can hear the regulator going up and down. Now, if I press down on the button and put a slight bit of pressure in a downward motion the window will go down to meet where the regulator has stopped, the window will then go up all the way on the button. However, if I dont send it all the way up - I can lower and raise the window with the button. When it is sent all the way up, the process has to start again. Could this be the regualtor? It seems to me that it may have fallen out of some sort of track or something - if that even exists?
