  1. Shoes and all springs are new (bought a full kit off amazon from TRW) will try all of this tomorrow
  2. Allright evrything is fitted newly now I cant get the drum over the new shoes since its too bigg ... anyone got an idea how i get the tention lower or the shoes closer to eachother?
  3. As an updat by getting the 30 mill 12 sided nut of the bearing and drum came off as a whole. Brake cylinder has been replaced but noticed the pedal would still go to the floor afster bleeding... turned out the self adjustment yoke broke off... so lucky I ordered a full set of 2 brake cylinders and pads for both sides :) only got a small question the bottom of the shoes are hold in by bolts it seems?
  4. Oh I whacked the sh*ts of the drum no movement and it ain’t cracking it’s verry rusted getting a tool for the hub nut this eve and then looking to do the job correctly. How a simple wrong turn with a wrench can be such a headache awtch
  5. Jesus I’ve made the mistake to shear the tread I came here for help and not commentary on my mechanic skills, how do you expect someone to learn something? I work in IT and learn everyday why can’t I work on my own car as long as I use my common sense? Well thanks to everyone else who atleast tried to help....
  6. Thanks evryone for the reply’s the screw holding it is indeed out, and there is no force by the shoes it’s just so rusted that ill need to use the penetrating fluid method. And bigjohn I already replaced my front rotors, pads and brake fluid in the past, if I don’t think it’s safe I wouldn’t drive with anyone else in the car.
  7. If only the drum came off as easely damn thing is rusted against the hub i think since it turns easely
  8. There was some aluminum around the thread of the nipple... so guess im off to buy a new brake cilinder or whatever the part is called. Well atleast I tried for god sake haha
  9. Tried to screw it back in isn’t catching :(
  10. Hey while doing a change from my winters to summers thought I'd do a brake fluid service as well, now I've azccidently turned the brake fluid nozzle so lose it came off... anyone know how to get it properly in again?
  11. To report back if driven it for 200kms last weekend and I must say I like the chassis quite well more responsive in corners then my dads octavia I find but then again if I'm going for this car which i calculated was 43% total off msrp with trade in of my old fabia. and suspension wise I'm looking to do eibach springs or pro street coilovers, eibach roll bars anyhow and upgrading the stock 16" with 17inch savio's or either the new fabia wheel with michelin ps4's that would be my plan. But first if I go throug enjoy the car for a little bit :). Plus I dont buy it to go racing to much police and speed camera's here in the state... so it would mainly be a verry nice daily for me and the girlfriend.
  12. Going for a test drive this evening with one from the local dealer, the one I'm looking at is apprently a showroomcar from another big dealer with a large discount list price 28150 euro and I got a quote for 19200 euro without giving in my old fabia then it would be 17200 euro.
  13. As the title says I'm looking at a skoda rapid spaceback in race blue metallic, glass roof, navi, cruise, only thing missing from option list is towing bar and dab, so basically full option. What are the main issues with this model? I heard there were issues with the sunroofs for skoda a few years ago and the dealer back then actually convinced my dad not to take it on his octavia. Thanks in advance -Tom
