  1. Just a question. My octavia is due to service. I don't really know what to do as I want to keep servicing car at skoda but I don't want software upgrade. Will they ask me if I want it? Can I refuse it? And finally how would I know if they didn't upgrade it anyway? Thanks
  2. I drive minimum twice a year across Europe 1k miles one way with my octavia vrs and I think I am getting old or vrs is not very good for long trips. I feel pain in my back even 2 days after the jurney ☺ I think for such a long trips superb or passat is way more comfortable. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. I spoke to my cousin who works for VAG and he said that he was sent to Germany for some training how to deal with issues including how and what to say customers. He said that all the changes for 2.0tdi engines as about to adjust all temeratures and it will mostly effect the dpf filter by shorting it operating life. Good news are that you can get brand new dpf filter for about f200 and even get f50 back for your old one in Poland:-) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. I am glad that I have got a place to go back if turns you've made a wrong decision. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Another chain tensioner failure? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Cut it out with angle grinder and weld new one on...simple
  7. My next choice will be petrol I have got 2.0 tdi and drive to work 11 miles one way (70%) motorway. Additionally couple times trip in the week to supermarket and dpf regeneration switch on roughly every 200 miles. The most anointing think is that you have sport car so sametime you want to drive faster but if you do that without steady drive on motorway for few miles afterwards its more likely that regen will be on while parking on you drive.
  8. Thank you for reply JulieD. That's great, I will get them refurbished then chase some good deal for winter tyre I think it is right time for it.
  9. Hi I don't want to start next topic so I am asking here. Friend of mine wants to give me his old set of alloy wheels from passat b5 2002 16" I would like to use them as my winter set to my octavia vrs mk2 2012 2.0tdi which has OEM wheels 18" Will those 16" fit?
  10. Does dtuk box effect dpf in anyway? More power more fuel more sood.
  11. Is that self leveling make that hid kit legal? The head lights are certificated for h7 bulb up 2000lumens and 4000kelvis and reflector is not designed for it as well and finally there is no head light washers. In my opinion it is still ilegal.
  12. On sport mode It should accelerate quicker. Just becouse in sport mode gearbox shift gear at higher range of revs where engine has the highest torque and power bit consume the most fuel.
  13. If you Don't need to use low saps oil don't use it. Go for full saps 5w40. Millers is good option but consider penrite enviro+ 5w40 as well
  14. When I drive to Poland it is just over 1000 miles one way. Normally I leave UK (Birmingham ) late afternoon to avoid all traffic by London and Benelux. I am getting tired about 1-2 am and it is normally west of Germany. So we stop for 2 hours. We have short walk for few minutes on fresh air, after that we have a good an hour nap and the finally little exercise outside again and cup of coffee and go... It is helpful that in Germany you can drive a bit faster so normally I set speed on 110mph and it keeps you focused .
  15. Unfortunately new screws won't stop thief to break into. Maybe would worth to put some stickers on windows saying that equipment is protected?
