Does anyone have a picture of the washer tube fitting underneath the rear panel of the tailgate? I can't believe that the crappy white plastic box thing that joins the tube to the rear wipe unit would ever keep pressurised water from flooding my boot. There are a lot of good and well built parts to the Octavia but honestly, this waterpipe system is unbelievably poor. I can't help thinking that something must be missing ?

Has anyone with a DSG ever had the car lurch forward with a loud clunk when starting the car in park? It almost feels like the car is in gear and the clunk is quite loud. Noticed it mostly in very cold whether. Have started putting the car into neutral to start instead of park. Should I have always been doing this? Was taught to drive in a manual where you obviously start the car in neutral but I thought starting in park was ok ?

Thanks Gadgetman. The sensitivity is on the maximum setting but it is still lazy.

My head unit appears to want to eat CDs in the front loader slot. The CD pops out about a couple of millimetres then shoots back in. Takes a few ejects before I can get the CD out. Looks like another trip to the garage. Perhaps they can sort out the rain sensor as well which believes that a completely obscured windscreen is what every driver needs when driving at 60 mph.

Ever since I had my tyres changed I've been getting stones trapped in my driver's side front wheel. Apart from the embarassment of the car sounding like the exhaust is falling off because the stone makes such a noise, it's a real pain having to keep taking the wheel off. It's always the driver's side front wheel. Anyone else experiencing this ? We have got stones on our drive but I'v never had trouble with other cars.

I got new aeroblades from the dealer part numbers 1Z2 955 425A AND 1J2 955 426B and they measure 21" and 19". The passenger one seems ok but the driver's one is a good 2-3 inches shorter than the one that originally came with the car. Have the specs changed or have I got the wrong size blades?

My front two wipers cost GBP 33 from the Skoda dealers. Is that right? Seemed a bit steep.

When I took my Mum out with her disabled cards she put them up against the windscreen and they just slipped down between the glass and the dashboard so that only about 2mm of card was showing. The rest disappeared out of view. Luckilly I managed to get them back with a pair of very pointy scissors. Be warned though !

Horn doesn't function when key not in ignition

Ah ok that makes sense. Thanks. -
They updated mine and I noticed the same. Have to say though that I actually prefer it. It feels more controlled and it has stopped the infrequent but very annoying stalling I was getting with the DSG.

Automatic Wipers - worst feature of the L&K?
timjfw replied to bertJ's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have mine on the maximum setting and they work 60 % of the time then suddenly they'll stop and the screen will be completely obscured and then they'll start again after an uncomfortably long delay. It is verging on dangerous not to mention annoying. Is it potluck with the sensor ? I have the old style one on a 56 plate. I might ask them to change it under warranty at the next service. -
