  1. Mk1 octy vrs south shields. Welcome
  2. Been looking about for one myself and from what ive found online (miltek , piper etc.) You could have a custom one made up from places like powerflow etc. For about the same money. Im after something loud so think i'll be booking it in at powerflow when i have some spare coin.
  3. Sweet. What about the mesh? Really neccessary to leave it 24 hours to set?
  4. Had a good read of the guide on how to tackle the wide mouth mod and will be attempting it tomorrow. Just a couple of questions about it. After sealing the mesh in place is it absoloutely neccessary to leave for 24 hours before refitting and driving? Also, i will be using hacksaw blades to remove the number plate recess as i dont have a dremel/jig. I dont have a file to get as close as id like. Would sandpaper suffice for getting a nice clean edge? Thanks in advance
  5. Id be game for a meet like.
  6. I remember when i fitted the rears on mine they were a bit of a squeeze. Bit gentle persuasion will get them in. Just dont be too rough with them haha
  7. Job done. The rounded allen keys made the job a LOT easier. Oil pickup was almost completely blocked aswell
  8. Gunna tackle the oil pickup this weekend. Heard about the 3 awkward bolts on the gearbox end. Im not worried about removing these as i have a ball end allen key. Any tips on replacing them so that they dont fall off the allen key and get lost in the gearbox housing? Also what torque setting for the different bolts? TIA
  9. Cheers but 5.50 seems a bit steep lol
  10. Anyone know somewhere i can get a throttle body gasket at a reasonable price? Cant use tps local to me as im not trade and the stealers want daft money for one. Thanks.
  11. Where are the local suppliers/dealers? Quick look online shows nothing. Need a few bits n bobs , cheers
  12. Anyone used powerflow in shiremoor? Just wanna know if there any good before a book in for a cat back system. If not any other custom places round n about that are any better?
  13. Yeah i had it chocked up with loads of wood. Left for 24 hours. Piissed off to the max with it now lol
  14. Fitted a rear diffuser to my mk1 vrs last weekend. I used tiger seal and its held fine on the drivers side right along to the exhaust cut out. The problem is it keeps 'pingin' off the passenger side n hanging off. Sick of trying to seal it back on. Has anyone got any advice? ****ed off with it now.
  15. Annoying knocking on the front end so Gunna tackle the drop links on the car tomorrow for the first time. Never done it before but looks straight forward. Any tips or anything i should know before doing it?
  16. If i get my car back from the garage i will be there. Seems like a canny day out
  17. Yeah the oil level is fine. I was thinkin of just limping it a mile down the road and calling the aa as i dont have home start.
  18. Had the red oil light flash up 3 weeks ago. The car hasnt moved since as ive been waiting to get it into a garage. I need to drive it 8 miles to the garage next week. Question is should it be ok to drive or should i just get it recovered. The light flashed up and beeped a few times but went straight off. Just a bit weary about driving it with low pressure.
  19. Im getting the cambelt kit and waterpump done all in for 250 at my local with genuine parts, so i would say its a tad high. But it does seem to vary from place to place.
  20. Aye its on 87k 05 plate. Doubt its had the most thorough servicing to be quite honest. Booked in at garage next wednesday to have cambelt and waterpump so ill have it checked then and keep you all posted. Cheers for the replies.. much appreciated
  21. Ive only owned it for about 5 months. Only had 2 stamps in the book but i had a service done as soon as i bought it.
  22. Best not to drive it then? Just at a loss as to how im gunna actually get it to a garage
  23. Today after a bit spirited driving across the north york moors i hit the motorway and after about 5 miles the red oil light flashed a couple of times then went off. I dropped the speed to about 40 until i could get into the services to check the levels. Everything was fine on the dipstick and drove fine so i carefully drove back home. Is this related to oil pressure and is the car okay to drive? About 20 miles prior to this i had the engine management light come on (same journey) but when i scanned it was a code for the thermostat (which i knew was faulty anyways) Any advice would be massively appreciated as i dont fancy driving if the red oil light means the engine is being starved of oil!
  24. The usual suspects are the ones under the inlet manifold on the pcv system. Right pain in the arse to get to and change. Theres two on either side of the dipstick tube. The one on the right is the pcv one, that split on mine and caused the same codes your getting. Sometimes the split is difficult to see. Probably best of listening for a 'hissing' noise or you can remove the black tray infront of the inlet manifold, which is only held in place by four screws. That will give u a better view on the pipes. Give them a good look over. If it is one of those pipes your best off replacing the lot as when one goes the rest will be in similar condition.
