  1. I had the same issue so i replaced the clutch and dmf which was buggered and now perfect. I did the shim also which stopped the free play rattling when rolling in neutral.
  2. Hi guys My friend recently gave me a couple of 500ml bottles of Wynns DC3 egr turbo and injector cleaner. I was just wondering if it's safe to use in my 2006 Fabia VRS? Lately it's got a bit sluggish and black smoke on boost I no people say the smoke if it's been mapped which mine has but I thought I'd give it a go as long as it don't cause me no problems after? Thanks
  3. There's minimal movement from the engine mount
  4. Had a slight vibration under acceleration at speeds over 60mph and as cars done over 160,000 miles I decided to change the top gearbox mount as it looked worn and after removal it looked even worse. Got the part from tps and after fitting I started car up and now the car seems to shake on tick over even worse than it did before. There's a lot of movement from the engine back to front under load and on tick over and to me it looks like it's coming from the dog bone mount although this was replaced only a few thousand miles ago when clutch and DMF was replaced and was purchased from skoda main dealer. Could this be faulty or the wrong one? Does it fit other skodas?
  5. I have the same trouble with my VRS and I've replaced exactly the same parts except egr delete and I've just bought top gearbox mount but yet to fit to see if this helps. When I'm driving at about 70 and accelerate there's a terrible vibration. I removed the top cover from the engine and this seems to have helped a bit
  6. It doesn't get slower it sounds like I'm driving over gravel and yes it stops as soon as I'm stationary. Had a gearbox specialist have a look and he says it's the free wheeling where no gear is selected and more likely main shaft play
  7. Just wondering if anyone can help... Have a 2006 fabia Vrs which has done nearly 160,000 miles. When slowing down say to a set of traffic lights, if I put it into neutral and let it roll up to a stop as the speed decreases I've got a horrible rattling type noise but if I leave it in gear and come to a stop it doesn't happen. It sounds like to me a kind of flywheel type noise but just had Sachs flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate and csc bearing replaced about 5,000 miles ago so it can't be flywheel related. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  8. Hi all Recently bought a skoda fabia vrs and a do lots of motorway driving. ive now started to get a problem once being in traffic it becomes very hard to select first gear. I have to force it in sometimes or pump pedal couple times and it eventually goes in. I can hear a slight noise coming from down the passenger footwell when it becomes difficult to get in the gears. I have to put so much pressure down on the clutch pedal so it's nearly through the floor and the biting point is very low. It's fine if driving not in traffic. Sometimes when trying to park in a gap it's hard to select first and reverse.. I'm thinking clutch and flywheel? Any ideas? I've only had it a month and now regretting buying it as it's done high mileage 150,000!! Thanks guys help will be much appreciated!!
  9. New to here after buying a skoda fabia vrs. Had a slight bonking noise from front suspension. I thought maybe top mounts but I changed the link arms as they looked old and worn. It cured the bonking now I have an annoying rattle whilst driving and going over bumps?!? Checked the springs there ok and were replaced a year ago although the car does look very high from the front? Can anyone help or give me any advice? Thanks!
