  1. I have to remove myself. Have moved the the darkside, Skoda written off so i'm going Volvo
  2. They wouldn't supply the coilovers so its the bushes i'd use. New coilies would be required and an exhaust!
  3. No need to worry at the moment. At the bodyshop being assessed after I was hit by a drunk driver last night! And just after I ordered all those bits! If the fix her i'll fit them but if they write her off i'll get a tdi and fit them to that. Get a BMW 318D Tourer to play with while they decide!
  4. Economy! Think i'd be better with she'll win more races at the lights! She moans economy is poor two seconds before telling me she raced a subaru! Think i'll just have to wait a bit for a remap, good christmas present maybe
  5. Finally bit the bullet and bought all new suspension bits. Coil overs (JOM Reds - Don't start bitching and sayng KW or Weitec better) for under 300 quid coming from germany and all the bushes from a polish company, 107 quid. New top mounts from e-bay as the old ones grind on lock (the wierdo was asking 50% more for skoda than golf ones even though same part number) and i'm getting the tool for the rear bushes on the recomendation of a guy at work, £50. When the missus heres that lot i'm a dead man, a happy one but dead nether the less. Now have to figure a way to justify the remap I want!
  6. Check all the pipe work leading to the to the manifold and to the turbo intake pipe (tip). Had similair codes come up on mine and the breather pipe had a massive split in it under the manifold by the time i traced it. Does the car hunt at idle? If it does this would suggest some sort of air leak and it's trying to compensate
  7. Just fitted one to my octy and the manufactorer lists all MkIV golf derivatives as using the same bar. Just had to cut the bumper differant for the leon. So it should fit.
  8. Dunlop sports, replaced like with like as was impressed mith them. Had several sets of pirellis on differant cars and all have gone oval. Fit mine at work so only cost 50ish quid each
  9. Those are the pipes. Had looked at the diagram just before i came online. Forgot i'd got a copy. It was the pipe that attaches to the inlet by the turbo i was concerned about but can now see it's just a 'breather'. The tank vent is with the fuel pipes which are was worried that pipe was. I's all good!
  10. Excellent. But where does the vapour come from i'e where is the pipe to the tank? That is the only pipe i have on the fuel rail/inlet chamber no pip with coolant. The other pipe was onto the metal pipes by the sai control valve and goes down the back of the block. Assume this was connected to the charcoal canister and want to know what it is
  11. On the egr valve that the forge plate replaces. Why has no-one who written a report removed the metal pipes that are attached. I've done it and now have two pipes with nothing attached. One comes from down by the turbo and it's air intake and the other comes from the charcoal filter and along the intake manifold. I've just fitted bolts to these but are they the system for the fuel tank fumes and need to be linked?
  12. Yeah i've seen the kits but thats a lot of money for some bent metal. It's not chipped and the plugs are the none adjust sort (can't remeber which ones i've slept since) Might look at changing them again as i'm sure they are the set one of the packs failed on and might be 'sooted'
  13. Every so often the car runs a bit rough and when i lift the bonnet i find one of the coil packs has lifted slightly. Does any one know why this happens, is it just bouncing them out from the road or is it poor sealing spark plugs allowing them to be pushed out.
  14. I removed the fuse then ran the engine up. Just watch the clips on the filter as one of mine snapped off the pipe and you have to buy all three pipes at 60 quid. Not a difficult job to replace them but an expensive filter change
