  1. Car is 17 months old having covered 8000miles. If the battery is U/S it a shouldn't be and b must be faulty manufacture.
  2. Well that's useful to know in these days of no volt meter. windows don't work properly = battery going flat!
  3. Page 44 at the bottom in my owners manual. (june 2014)
  4. By the way, I think the groan was probably from the rear brakes 'graunching' because you applied the handbrake whilst in drive. I have done the same and noticed that noise.
  5. I am a 20 second in D man and any longer in N+footbrake. Can some clever clogs tell me this. Having Googled DSG (& having a Btech diploma in classic car restoration) I am so old that I lived in a world of BorgWarner 35 & 65 {currently '77 Stag} 3 speed auto boxes and latterly Honda & Mercedes CVT. Back to the plot. Google informs me that a DSG has 2 clutches and is a 'proper' gear box wiv cogs and stuff, but the clutches are operated electrically, all of which I knew. BUT if there is no torque converter, how can the car remain in gear and not move? The clutch operating first gear (1 clutch looks after odd number gears , the other looks after even number gears,) can't be slipping or it would wear out. So how does sitting in 1st gear with the brake on work, gearbox wise???
  6. Sorry Johann, But I must disagree. (perhaps I have an electrical problem on my car.) When I get home in the evening I lock the car on the fob. I NEVER hold the button til the mirrors fold, there is no need. Often when the temperature drops rapidly overnight (thereby risking condensation) the blind is halfway closed when I open the car in the morning. Never fully closed, only ever halfway. The computer has been set to DISABLE auto closing.
  7. You should NEVER leave any autobox in drive at Traffic lights or in traffic jams. Neutral or park and then handbrake.
  8. I disabled the roof autoclosing because I became sick to death in the autumn when the ambient temperature drops of the B****Y blind closing. Apparently this is to save condensation dripping on the seats, in my case leather so does it really matter? I would far rather have to wipe a bit of water off the seats than have a soaking wet blind that you can't retract until it dries out. Having said all this, even AFTER disabling the autoclosing the B****Y blind STILL persists in closing halfway. I find this infuriating. Personally I would rather not have the blind at all as I NEVER close it. Short of cutting the wire that powers the blind we are stuffed as my Skoda dealer tells me there is NO OTHER intervention that can be undertaken by dealers, other than that on the in car compute.r
  9. Non functioning window is on page 44 of the Yeti handbook. It talks about leaving a window open & then having the battery disconnected. If you did not do this, ignore it and go through the procedure on page 44. I did it yesterday evening and it worked. When it was NOT working I noticed that the drivers window was completely unresponsive either up & down when using the key fob to lock (close windows and roof or) unlock (open windows and roof) Hope this helps
  10. This is the email I sent my Skoda Dealer. I have yet to get a reply. Please discuss with your service department. As per our recent conversation/emails. Gear box ‘grunting' when starting off 1>2>3 Please see this article. it describes my problem exactly. And the noise on the video is the same a s mine, but it does not happen all the time although it is getting more frequent. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/363360-dsg7-noise-when-changing-gears/ Reading Briskoda, there seems to be a lot of unhappiness with the DSG box , have you had any problems reported? If you listen to the video (you will need full volume and note the instructions as to when the sound occurs) clip it is exactly the noise my box is making. It does not bode well, judging by some of the comments on Briskoda. I did check at the time regarding the oil problem/recall, but was informed my box was not affected. I presume my Yeti box is a DQ200? I will contact the service department on Monday. By the way, further to our telecom this afternoon, the answer to the non functioning window is on page 44 of the Yeti handbook. I have done as it suggests and it seems to be working fine. Why it stared misbehaving is a mystery. (just in case anyone else asks you the same question). best wishes. Colin L
  11. I bought my 1.2 DSG Yeti, delivered on the 8th of June 2104 and it certainly hasn't had any service campaign work carried out on it unless they did it during the PDI. Has anyone any official notification of such work? If so I would be very glad to have sight of it.
  12. 2014 1.2 Yeti elegance DSG. 8,500 miles. Gearbox recently started 'grunting' on set off and 1>2 and 2>3 Reported to my dealer today. To be fair I have owned Fabia Estate 1.2 DSG & a 2012 1.2 DSG Yeti SE+ and had absolutely no problems at all. Any other recent reports of similar. To hear the noise go here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/363360-dsg7-noise-when-changing-gears/ Watch and listen (full volume required) yo the video clip. Watch this space!
