  5. Get it done at your next service would be my recommendation. My vrs petrol is on 109k and has had two cambelt and water pump replacements in its life (most recently at 101k). If you're interested I paid £750 for a major service including cambelt, water pump, AUX belt, spark pugs etc. at a trusted indy
  6. Shame to hear... hope you get it fixed! (and doesn't cost a bomb)
  7. Only a week away from the biggest race weekend of the year. Who's going? What campsite you in? How long are you going for? Ferry, Train or Plane? I'll be going for the first time ever (on a stag do), cant wait for it and taking the mk2 vrs
  8. Not good, least you're all okay! Let us know how you get on with insurance. Will be interested to see how they try and screw you and what they'll charge for you to buy the car back.
  9. Tax for diesels is surely going to go up and up to force people into petrol's. If you're planning on keeping the car long term get a petrol and enjoy the non agricultural feel! (I am very very biased towards petrol though)
  10. It will be a sad sad day when this becomes reality ;(
  11. Let Chris Knott know you have found a cheaper quote and see if they will match it or beat it....
  12. I paid £750 all in for cambelt, water pump, AUX belt and major service in December at my local indy. Was about £50 cheaper than my local skoda dealer.
  13. Wow what a result. Congrats and what you deserve after all the hassle! Enjoy
  14. Brilliant, shame i wasn't looking for a new motor back then! Would take there hand off for that now..........
  15. What dealership was this and when did you take the deal? That's a great price you got!
  16. What year is it and what mileage you sitting on?
  17. 3 year old BMW 335i next for me.. reasonably priced (considering octy vrs are £30k) over 300bhp and plenty of space in the boot for all the essentials
  18. Go for petrol, you wont look back! I love mine, I only do 9-10k miles a year and average about 34mpg but i drive with a bit of spirit shall we say
  19. I have an 06 tfsi (stage 1) with 96k on the clock. Still going strong on original clutch.
  20. Beautiful car. If i had the cash i'd snap it up. Good luck with the sale
  21. Might be a silly question but what is the difference between the VRS FL Rear Lights and the VRS PreFL Rear Lights?
