I had the same issue. well I played a bit with vcds and after changing the value in: Ch01 Engine -> login 12233 -> ch10 adaption -> ch01 changed the value there from 0->100 and no more hot start issues now for a week with no problems. hope it helps. yea the right thing to do is to remap the ecu, but I do not have the resources nor $, and I live on the faroe islands where no one does that, so my options were few but hey, this works 1.9 tdi bjb Octavia mk2

hi.... i might have a solution for this one.... i have an octy II mpi 2006 in which i installed a pioneer stereo.... after that it kept dying on me after 3-4 months of new battery every morning. So i bought a new battery, bigger one and it lasted for 6 months until dying started.. Same problems with the dealers, no help at all. One day i took the stereo out... disconnected it completley and my car was alive the next day, and the day after that, I'm going to try buying a CAN-BUS adaptor even though it is rather expencive, i've heard that it might help... I'm not giving up on my octy

yes but first i need a can-bus adaptor... which is expencive :S and it would all be a whole lot easier if the only skoda dealer around wasn't a real F***UP :P... i ask him for one but he does not wanna sell one... he wants me drive the car to his workshop so he can take 7000,- kr (around 800£) for installing the new can -bus adaptor... so i'm gonna turn to the vw dealer and buy one from him or order it from the internet... does anyone know where i can find a website where i can buy that thingy? thx

yes... but i live on faroe islands with only one skoda dealer, who btw is a fraud and is cheating in every way to ge to more money... how about vw dealer? wouldn't that help?
