Had power steering problems for a couple of years on 2004 1.9 TDI. Only ever have the problem when the car has been standing and worse in the winter. Sometimes takes a couple of minutes to get up pressure. Once there is pressure, it's fine. Skoda have checked out the system a couple of times and not found any faults.
I want to sell the car, if the power steering where to fail "mid manoeuvre" as it were, would that be dangerous? This has never happened to me, and given the car's age it's the sort of fault one can live with, as long as there is no danger.
