  1. you would be against my clio if you did time attack could be a fun comparison!
  2. Before you go ordering seats richard, we have loads of seats from corbeau and can order them in any style direct from them ;-) They were the ones that did the white backed ones for my edition 30... they were the first custom ones they done :-)
  3. I will take these if you still have them please, i will PM you details! Luke
  4. really sorry to hear about your a5, thank you for sticking with the sale, very genuine of you when you could of just returned my deposit! The drive home was lovely, as was the drive to snetterton the next morning :-) Thank you for such a nice car Luke
  5. a few more pics as i was loading it up, Im really pleased with how its coming together, photos have been a little lapse but its been a push to get it ready to go off to pro alloy! the rollcage is painted and ready to go in when the cars back with us, this looks pretty good and cant see it from any of the window lines with how i have made it, but its to the spec of a 10 second drag racing cage. The rear seats still fit too which is good :-)
  6. These have been specced for the weight of the car bearing in mind the size of the car and wishbone length, dampers and spring rates will have to be fettled when its running but there easy to pull apart.... its going to be a bit of an experiment for the first few times out, unfortunately there isnt an off the shelf option or a medium wheelbase, ultra narrow, 400+bhp 4wd car available :wonder: The springs are actually half as much as what spring rates we run on our mk2 championship cars and there lighter than this....
  7. Look whats finally arrived... The piece we have been waiting for to get the car back on its wheels! The front end of the car is back together now ready for it to go off to have an intercooler, rad, oil cooler squeezed behind the bumper! :-s more pics to follow!
  8. I did look into it when i had the Edition 30, wouldnt be a huge job to do.
  9. Easy peasey, i reckon it could be done in a few days if all the parts are on hand ready... :-)
  10. The rear ends completed apart from paneling it all in, I had it sitting on the floor on temp wheels and the temporary dampers last night, im working on the front end today, and i have also specked up and ordered the suspension legs for the car
  11. i think its being read into too much lol, it wont have rear steer as the prelude does with another steering rack... which was poo! it will only change the tow a small amount just to help the feel from the rear end. It will be a link system like used on 99% of modern multi link cars, and 100% of properly built race cars.... the way i have done it is so it will have a massive range of adjustability from the rear end, so we can make it as compliant or as mad as richard wants handling wise. The "rear steer" will be on the inward positioning of the track rod link arm, with it at its highest setting it will move at the same rate as the lower arm so wont change the tow within the range of the suspension movement, move it down from the center point it will add "rear steer", so as the lower rear arm moves up the tow link arm will be following a lower arc in the suspension travel so will pull the back of the loaded (outside) wheel in and push the back of the unloaded (inside) wheel out... thus "rear steering" ...simples
  12. quick update while doing the rear end... What a pain! trying to squeeze all the suspension into the arch thats made to only fit a 185 width tyre in is prooving to be a headache! and im refusing to go down the route of adding 3" arch extensions..... nearly there tho, then it will be on its wheels!
  13. Sorry updates have been a little few and far between, since coming back from jury service I have drawn up all the bits to be lazier cut for the project, and ordered all the rose joints needed for the citigo! Due to the December post the rose joints took a little longer to come than expected which held up the measuring and manufacturing for the wishbones :slaps forhead: however I got there, and I made a jig too just incase we need to replicate them at a later date (I have made them so they will work for both sides which cuts down having loads of spares on the shelf...) I have managed to get a fair bit of length on the wishbones so the arc the hub will follow shouldnt give a bad geometry change like it does on the standard TT setup, and the adjustability I have built into the mounts means we should be able to set it up to have a small amount of rear steer and also have anti squat... Whilst I have been waiting for the bits to arrive I have been working back on the front of the car, stripping down the front of the engine and making the bracket to fit the small alternator for clearence, and making the new slim line crash bar for the front (this will cut down on space behind the bumper but being that it's now made of 2 25x2mm CDS tubes bent to the shape of the bumper it should be a hell of a lot stronger than the original bulky one too!) Next job for next week will be cutting out the rear tubs to make the new turrets for the rear suspension top mounts! This would be so much faster moving if there was blueprints to build the car from, but unfortunately there's a fair amount of planning to do before I can just go cutting metal out of the shell! Lol Luke
  14. Same attention to detail as what goes into all the projects here, the racing stuff has to be done to a high standard so they don't fall to bits, and the welding has to be to a standard on the rollcages to pass scrutaneering, the welding was tested at the hands of a world touring car driver that rolled our hire car this year, the cage survived without moving the cage or the welds :-)
