Had this issue last month with the panoramic room that when sometimes closing - it would then go to tilt position. Visited the dealer and the tech did a 're-calibration' (seemed to know exactly what the issue was). Said if it kept playing up they would need the car for a day but has not happened since.

Snow forecast here for Sunday with some flurries today, so happy I installed mine this week. Went with Skoda Crystal Black alloys with ContiWinterContact 850's but had to wait well over a month as on back order. Carry chains and these 6Jx17 alloys are the ones certified in the book for chains - it can matter here with police/insurance/testing (mostly testing as they have an eye for non-OEM and then you need all the paperwork). Was thinking some BBS but can just be more hassle. Look alright.

Cheers for that. Quite certain it is the drive shaft shield as it fits the schematic image in my head. Checked on the link above but it returned nothing. But the link states it is for recall notices and this could just be a service notice. If I was a 230 owner I would be giving my garage a call.

Was in getting the winter wheels installed on the 230 at the dealer the other day and noticed they lifted it up and were doing an inspection underneath. Went to pay and the service manager advised there is a service notice and I'll have to bring it in asap. Was in a rush & holding a rather unhappy 9 month old so didn't get any details - just had a quick glance at a schematic in his hand and had a part highlighted in black. Could have been the new trick diff, didn't really look like the DSG. Dunno really (sorry about being vague - sort of why I'm asking). So booked in next Friday (3-4 hours needed) and will try to find out the exact details / reference then. Anyone else heard about any service notices on the RS 230?

Congrats. Sweet looking colour - but white is better (except you need a vRS so it doesn't look like a company ride). Would go with the touch up stick and if not happy ask a local body shop to look at it (cash is king).

Individual mode most of the time. Engine - normal mode; Steering, ACC, lights, differential etc - sport mode; sound generator - eco mode. First thing I do when I start it up is turn off the auto engine stop/start. Want to overtake or move it - drop a couple of gears on the flappy paddles and bounce on the devil or tap the gear selector back once to go from normal "D" drive mode to "S" sports - sweet. Don't think I've ever used Eco yet. Then again have not been on a long distance motorway trip yet.

I've downloaded and have the files ready to install on a SD card but have a couple of questions. - How long does the copy / install process take on the columbus unit? - Can I do it while driving or must the car be stopped but with power to the unit on? Cheers.

Internal clue is the person driving it has a bigger smile cos they know they have a 230! Swiss ones have roof racks but never seen a logo on the side and you can get most of the 230 standard kit as options on a 220. So not much...er, black exhast tips as they pass you.

Hi Mikerajjers, late reply - been on hols for the week. It's a DSG. Swiss spec (Columbus, DAB, Maxidot, smartlink etc) with panorama sunroof, KEESY, reversing camera, interior lights & ACC. Was on the showroom floor so no choice on options as I would have upgraded the sound system and added some other features. Just have to get some winter alloys / tyres now and the official ones here are 6J (have to be able to fit chains on them). Sort of limits the options.

Collected a new RS 230 Estate on Friday. Went looking last weekend for a replacement of our Impreza that is getting a bit old with the idea of getting a Octavia 4x4 TSI, maybe even a Scout. But the wife saw this in the showroom and said "I want that one!". Deal done. Nicely equiped and does go well. Ride can be a bit harsh on less than perfect roads but getting used to it. ACC and Lane Control are interesting.

Hi, Just joined the club by trading my Impreza for a new Octavia RS 230 estate in white. Was a bit impulsive as I was thinking 4x4 but last weekend saw one on the dealership floor with DSG, columbus, panorama sunroof, reversing camera, kessy and a few other options. Test drive in a manual sedan confirmed it and with a good trade in price (for Switzerland) and company discount, signed then and there. Picked it up Friday and loving it. Have to get used to Lane Assist and ACC but goes great (a bit firm on the 19" alloys for my liking). Cheers.
