  1. Looks like you've got the right part number although google doesn't seem to pull up much for that part number. Although it did bring up one of your old threads from when you were looking for it! I think you're on the money that rubber part is missing. It's currently plastic on plastic hence why it's not sealing. Your help has been absolutely invaluable I really appreciate it. Hopefully I can get this fixed now on the cheap instead of a garage. I'll just have to search around for the part. Thank you so much, seriously you don't know how much of a life saver you are.
  2. Just to be a further pain that part number is for a wiper blade linkage?
  3. That's a massive help I appreciate that. Yeh when I start the engine you can just hear the air hissing I dare say it's from when it was serviced a few months ago but no way to prove it now. Couple of things where I run the risk of sounding daft, where are the two torx screws I can see one on the box like in the picture just under the arrow I take it that's one of them? Secondly there appears to be rubber on the middle of the pipe put it feels plasticy on the end where it's suppose to be sealed but isn't. I hope that makes sense??
  4. Hi guys I'm going to bring this back from the dead because I'm having the same problem. The hose in the picture above seems to be the issue I'm having. However it does seem to be "connected" to the right bit at the back. But it's loose??? I can wobble it about. Is there supposed to be a clip or something at the back to seal it? What's worse is I don't have the tools to get the big intake pipe off so I can get decent access to it. Any help is welcome.
  5. I do hope it's just a plug on the way out and nothing more sinister. . . or nothing more sinister as a result of todays fun and games. . . 60 plate, CAVE engine with 64k on the clock. Was just having a ganders at that forum, definitely seems the most likely scenario.
  6. Plugs were last sorted 12 - 15k miles ago i believe off the top of my head? Not on originals unless i've been fobbed off which i doubt. I'll take it careful until it gets taken to the garage on friday i just hope that the problem does get resolved then is all!
  7. Good evening Guys and Girls Some help/advice needed if you could be so kind please. (My car is a Fabia VRS Tsi) This morning after being caught in traffic, i got a moment to put my foot down and get up to a normal speed. However whilst accelerating my car decided to try and fall flat on its face. It just stopped accelerating, almost like the ignition had been cut, really lurched with it as well, once i'd back off and started to accelerate it seemed to be ok. This occured at about 3 - 4k revs It then did it again after being caught in a second bit of traffic but at about 2.5-3k revs. Backed off the throttle then all was normal. I got to work with no issue after that. I've driven home from work no problems, car accelerated with no issue, tried booting it and what not and the car behaved. No lights came up or anything during the initial incident. My question is, has anyone else had this issue? Was it a misfire? i've read plenty of forums about this but don't seem to tally up completely with what i had and the fact that it only happened twice seemed really odd. I have got the car booked in for friday but i'm not concerned an issue won't be picked up at all and i'm going to be out of pocket and with a potential underlying problem as well. Any thoughts?
  8. Thank you for the positive response David, i will certainly stick to that mantra. I've a couple of options to explore thus far but i will drop you a PM as well just to pick your brains a bit further. Naturally anyone is still welcome to step in with any advice if they have any!
  9. Hello all Now before you all read the job title and get up in arms, this is connected to bodywork so bare with me. . . It still might be the wrong section though but it's a tricky one to nail on. Long story short i'd love to start my own business and am thinking something along the lines of mobile bodywork repair/alloy refurbishment. No before you ask i don't have any experience i just have a passion for cars and lifes too short to not do something we don't enjoy. I am bored of the same old 9-5 admin jobs which i couldn't give 2 flying thingys about. Back on track. . . Basically, is there anyone in the business or has any knowledge that can offer me any pointers? Can you recommend me any good courses and where to go for them? Any pitfalls etc? The usual. Any help and advice welcome. Once again, very sorry if in the wrong section it just seemed the best fit.
  10. Ahh grand cheers guys. Axle stands needed then! The ever expanding gutline will probably prevent me getting good access to the rear springs. I shall see if the father in law/not in law has some axle stands so i can get to work on it. Furbytom that's a cracking thread i shall be using that one. Cheers matey. Lets see how much money the birthday skeleton brings on Monday as to how soon i can get one. . .
  11. Ok F*** it i'll go for the H&R once some funds free up. However those with experience, could you comment on how easy it is to fit? I'm guessing axle stands are required to get the back end in the air as well? Baring in mind i don't own any and i don't have the most amount of room to work with either! Eep.
  12. Not sure if i've ever spoken to you before but have been beaten by the Renault bug myself in the past when i owned a Clio 172 so had to chime in. I'd also be curious as to your thoughts on the new machine. Enjoy it regardless mate!
  13. Nevermind i have done more searching around and all appears well. Me getting myself into a tizzy over nowt. Welcome to close this thread if needs be!
  14. Ok i'll see if i can find one of those over the whiteline ones if poss. Like i say just trying to find one for as cheap as i dare. If needs be i'll fork out for a new one but just trying my luck at the moment. Defo not forking out extra for fitting though, i'll give it a whirl myself (I'm sure it will end up with me creating a new post saying "Please help me fit my RARB"). Appreciate all the help and input nevertheless!
  15. Hello all I've looked around everywhere and can't find an answer. So hopefully someone here can help me. As i may have dun goofed. To start, i have a Mk2 Fabia VRS... I have bought this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B4DGDB6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As it was on a Amazon Lightning sale and going for £150 so bargain . . . hopefully. However what does have me concerned is that it is 8inchs. Now there are options for 7 or 8 inchs for Skoda Fabia Mk2's so i'm slightly concerned that it won't fit. Any experience/know how on the matter? Thanks Ben
  16. Aup Goneoffski cheers for your help on my last forum post as well i do remember you. I'm not actually taking it to a dealer for the service but a VAG Independant specialist who work out cheaper and have some solid reviews. I can't remember all what they told me but it will be fuel filter etc that's getting sorted with the major service. With regards to tyres it'll be going to another garage that i use who are part of the blackcircles scheme. And as i said before, i'm not overly fussed on which RARB i get i am just after one for as cheap as i can (without it obviously being a POS). So if anyone does see and hear about one being sold cheap let me know. S73VEJ: Cheers for the input mate i did see them on there but would still like one for a bit less poundage if i can!
  17. Brilliant stuff - Thank you very much guys Furbytom - I'm not overly fussed on which one just the cheaper (without it being naff) the better. But baring in mind i'm putting the car in for a major service and 2 new tyres - i'm desperately hoping a decent second hand RARB will crop up on here so i can get it on the cheap! Once again thanks for the help guys, i thought it would be a straight fit but it's always worth checking.
  18. Hello all Long time no speak and sorry to raise something which has been probably been raised thousands of times. First things first apologies for taking so long to pop my head back on here i did create a topic listing some issues i appeared to be having. Long story short and the car is absolutely fine (Touch wood). But thanks to all for their contributions and help on the matters. Anywho. . . I have been reading around on here as i find the handling wanting a little bit and have heard nothing but high praise for the RARB's. I'm interested in the Whiteline just as it's the cheapest and i've heard no negatives, but i have seen conflicting info (wires may have been crossed) and i just wanted to check this would fit straight onto my car (Fabia mk2 VRS) baring in mind it's all stock. I have read that it possibly knocks against the exhaust?? Any help would be appreciated. Oh and if anyone is selling one on the cheap please let me know! I have looked in the buying/selling section but no joy from what i've seen. Cheers Ben
  19. From the sounds of it, the black ones would suit your car well! What colour are yours? It's each to their own, it's not as bad as it's perhaps to be made out, but yes it's just something to keep an eye on, which could be frustrating for some people, i just need to become a bit more strict and make sure i do keep an eye on it more vigilantly. Thanks for the well wish though and no i wouldn't recommend anyone to Claybank now, but lesson learned i guess. Thanks a lot, if i think of any questions i have then i'll give you a PM. To be fair i don't think anything much of either Phil or Alex, they aren't particularly helpful and i find their attitudes really poor whenever i've spoke to them. I've not really had to pick their brains on knowledge, but then again i don't think i would of done either for the reasons you have stated. Andy was just a refreshing change to what i had dealt with, especially when compared to them and he was very helpful on the day. But thanks for the heads up about him and if i have to deal with him again in the future then i'll be mindful (although i typically am anyway). That is nothing short of terrifying to be honest. . . i wonder how many people who weren't in the know have had their engines ruined by this shoddy advice? I've said it before and i'll say it again, i really am disappointed in Skoda for this type of approach/behaviour to everything. This is why i came to Skoda in the first place, to avoid this kind of treatment etc. Serves me right for not doing my homework seeing all the information that was in here, however on the plus side, i'm now a part of this awesome forum and my problems could be significantly worse (Hopefully i'm not tempting fate by saying all this). .
  20. Thanks fella, yep it's defo an improvement, back to the garage next week thursday to get it sorted! The front and rear parking sensors aren't stock from what i believe (mentioned earlier in this thread) but i didn't do that. I've no intention of modding it as it's ample for me and my needs. Have you modded yours at all or also keeping standard?
