  1. I've taken a couple of pictures, one in the sun & the other in the shade which give a better idea of the darkness. For reference, the car is Business Grey.
  2. They look a bit darker in this photo, I'll try & get a pic in normal daylight.
  3. My Superb's just been back at KDS for a bit of GTechniq Crystal Serum on a replacement rear bumper (courtesy of a Freelander using it to stop at roadworks), glass treatment on a new windscreen & I also treated it to a GTechniq valet whilst there & it's come back looking great! Got Zenith Anthracites on for my winter wheels in case you're wondering.
  4. My iPhone periodically doesn't work with CarPlay either which seemed to correspond with an IOS update. However, I have found that if I go to the Smart Link in the menu that my iPhone box has become unchecked by itself & it usually works again after being checked again.
  5. Would it be yours that I saw at KDS when I dropped off my winter alloys for their protective coating at the weekend? If so it looks very distinctive & great to see something different!
  6. Hi, I ended up sticking with LV.com at around £300 for mine - I shopped around this year as I forgot last year but got quotes £700 plus from several! I've not had such a wide spread in quotes since I was in my twenties. I'd definitely have a good check around & not renew at that quote! Good luck with getting a better quote.
  7. Mine is starting to crease & look a little squashed on the door side & I've only done roughly 6,000 miles. This hasn't happened on any of my previous cars until much, much higher mileages.
  8. That's been a long term loophole - I was very briefly a Ford salesman just over 10 years ago & they were using that trick then - the customer was usually asked to leave it a month or so to make sure the dealer got their commission for the finance sale. The dealer did often give a slightly better price to the customer if they did this - sort of giving them a share of the commission!
  9. Hi, 1) I was mildly disappointed with the acceleration in normal as it often felt reluctant to accelerate & disconnected but since putting the engine response to sport it has come alive & feels quite nippy on our local rural roads. The downside to the sport setting for the engine is that when you are cruising it does hang onto lower gears (it hasn't seemed to detrimentally affect mpg to any great degree though) but this is easily rectified by switching to normal. 2) Don't know, I will look if I remember. 3) Not filled it yet but the range did drop alarmingly at the start, though this has slowed now. 4) I seem to be getting high 30s to low 40s in general - bear in mind I have the 4X4 & am not cruising on dual carriageways etc. On a longer run to Stoke recently it was high 40s & I wasn't hanging about. In general I really like it & my family certainly do with all the space!
  10. No but grey cars in fog are even harder to see so it's even more important to have your lights on!
  11. I was driving in fog the other week & my lights didn't come on in Auto, I assumed they had as it was quite dim & I could see light reflecting back off the car in front but this turned out to be the DRLs as my wife was following me & couldn't see any rear lights on. When your car is Business Grey like mine it really needs lights in the fog! I appreciate that people are saying you can tell in other ways but from my point of view I'd have known straight away with a quick glance at the dashboard for the green light which works really well in our Yeti & has also been the standard in cars for decades. I do feel this is a real backward step & totally unnecessary too. I don't trust the Auto lights at all when it's foggy now & just turn them on manually as I don't want to be a numpty driving with no lights on.
  12. I was a retail customer for my dealership where I've had a previous Skoda of mine & both of my wife's Skodas serviced & been happy. I decided to go with them as I had a "relationship" with them & just got them to match a small CarWow discount, thinking I wasn't sure about the online brokers as I was worried they fell into the bracket of "too good to be true". My trade in was woeful (unfortunately I just didn't have the time or inclination to sell privately), probably to claw back the small discount. Right from the off communication was terrible, I had to chase being called back to arrange a test drive!!! Product knowledge was dismal when I went through the order after the test drive, if anything I seemed to know more. I never had any information volunteered throughout the whole period & felt I was doing all the work. I'd asked for quotes for accessories & had to chase these & there seemed to be little interest in selling them to me. I will however say that when I'd picked up the car & found one of the umbrellas missing it was rectified quickly but the cynic in me wondered if that was due to the fact that they knew my customer survey was about to be filled in! The salesman was perfectly pleasant & chatty in person, I just don't feel he did much & certainly not enough to justify paying more at a dealership. Also, I have no experience as to whether the other salesman there are the same. I have been reassured to see so many good experiences from people buying through New Car Discount & the like, so will probably explore that route more thoroughly when it come to replacing my wife's Yeti & hopefully get a much better deal.
  13. I too went to KDS on Gizmo's recommendation (Gizmo ought to get a referral bonus!) & they had to do the Bronze repairs on mine, loads of swirls from the dealer's cleaners, a couple of touch ups from somewhere along the production process & a few weird chips that they weren't sure if someone had put something on the car or something had been in the paint (didn't bother going back to the dealer about it as I'd had the car a week & assumed I'd get nowhere) . Apparently this isn't uncommon even in cars more expensive than ours - still annoying though! I was really pleased with my results too, I just haven't got round to posting the pics yet.
  14. Much though I like my L&K, I wish I'd been able to order black leather, glad to see Skoda have finally seen sense!
