  1. Having the same intermittent issue on my Superb DSG. Wouldn't be so bad if you could just re-turn the key but you have to move the leaver forward to Park before restarting the engine. You then get the delay of the engine coming back to life and then finally putting the vehicle back into drive. Whole process takes 2-4 seconds. I'm going to book it in for a start stop delete.
  2. Can't help but feel that people complaining about owners trying to get compensated is a bit of the green eyed monster because "their car wasn't effected". VW is multi billion company that turns over a hell of a lot of cash. It deceived and lied about emissions cheat software and now to fix that issue alters owners vehicles. Degrades performance, economy and attraction for selling on. Ok we don't have to have the update done, but what knock on effect for re-sale etc? I mean once mine is sold I will never own a diesal or any vehicle from the VAG group.
  3. Update or no update the vehicle is not meeting the requirements it said on the tin without adverse effects. If it was that easy to meet the requirements why create such an elaborate software fix. A very dominant company in the motor industry took a big shortcut whilst making a hell load of money .... time to cough up.
  4. I take it you don't have a vehicle affected by the cheat software? You are right in the sense people didn't care about emissions before they purchased. I for one didn't but before I put my hard earned cash on a new vehicle. However I did buy it for the reason it would have a good resale value and limit my losses in a vehicle. These factors - Low tax (economical), Runs all day (fuel efficient) Better than a petrol for the environment (Appealing). These factors have all disappeared and the death of the diesal is not so unbelievable to us as city's begin applying a new tax levy. So if Skoda sold me a vehicle on the pretense of those factors but now they want to remove them I shall be entitled to compensation. I don't understand the protection for VW from individuals in this country, compensation won't be paid from tax payers money it will come from the very large purse of the biggest Car manafacturer in the world.
  5. Admins - Following V1 & V2 of this topic and now that people are finally starting to take this issue seriously can we get it pinned. Thanks
  6. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/12/30/british-volskwagen-drivers-have-taken-ride-emissions-scandal/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_em Now the government have come round to the idea with a bit of help from the EU commission we can start taking this topic seriously.
  7. So I bought my Skoda Superb MK2 late Aug 2015 and It has flagged up as a recall. Tbh I'm not impressed with forking out a lot of my hard earned cash to be told they now need to change it. Also diesal not having the greatest name from all of this, not to mention the health risks now associated with these engines. Question is do I have any consumer rights to return the goods as I am within the 6 month return period? As in "goods not as described " and then not having to worry about going down the legal compensation route? Thanks
